Talking about the BigFreeze slide that Maguire did. He said they should get 10K for her to do it, 50K if she gets to the water at the bottom of the slide and stayed under.

Mcguire is an absolute plonker who would have had run ins with just about every person at the top of the AFL tree over the years including Andrew Demetriou but I don't think we will ever hear or see McGuire bring a personal feud with a bloke onto the TV and joke about physically harming them.
Perhaps he has and I have missed it bit I don't think he has and I don't think he ever will.

Caroline Wilson is a football journalist who rarely writes about actual football. Her stories are almost exclusively about what happens off field which makes it easy to compare her to a gossip columnist rather than a sports reporter

No doubt she has done well to work her way up to the position she has and she's well connected in the industry especially as a female in a male dominated sport. Can't have been easy

That said she's prone to pushing agendas and is often incorrect something that doesn't endear her to a lot of people.

I don't particularly like her as a journalist which puts her on a long list as our sport isn't blessed with quality reporting - too big a focus on scandal/upheaval rather than intelligent analysis of what happens on field

Two club presidents joking about drowning someone isn't a good look but the focus on Wilson being female pits this discussion somewhere it doesn't need to be. Saying she gets criticised or attacked because she's female gives her a free pass from scrutiny as a poor journalist

Emma Quayle is a female sports reporter that I rarely see criticised because her work is usually of a high standard.

Maybe people should question why it is that Wilson attracts criticism and look beyond just her gender when searching for clues

This uproar reminds me of the Julia Gillard saga. Obviously Eddie needs to learn when to zip it, but not sure this deserves so much media attention. Of course Eddie should apologise to CW just in case any offence has been taken. I Also remember some years back on the footy show when Sam stepped over the mark (again regarding CW) - forget the finer details but just remember the uproar. The thing is though these guys/Reporters just never seem to learn when not to step over the mark. Personally I can't stand PC - it drives me bonkers - but when in the limelight you just have to be a bit cautious with your comments.

Not a fan of the muckraking journalists but that was over the top and I'm willing to bet a large sum of money he wouldn't have said it about Damien Barrett or Robbo.

That's a load of crap. It was well out of order and it's a classic case of having the dominant and popular male, others wanting to be associated so they laugh along and join it to show how supportive they are, just so they can remain team player. This is prevalent amongst professional occupations as you go higher up and those that do not conform are cut out. Mates get promoted, get tips and get suggested for jobs which they may not be best candidate but because they are part of club and all that, they get the job. It's sickening.

And it's 1000% harder for women doing predominantly male occupations such as construction where all sorts of sexist drivel is said.

Caro does a good job and good on her for having strong opinions because they are true. CEOs and presidents love it when they have an out and are never made responsible for anything. They hate it having actually being held accountable.

So no, Eddie did not say what WE WERE ALL thinking.
