I don't know much about soccer but Daniel Kerr's sister is supposed to be playing for Australia in the 2015 Women's World Cup that starts on SBS One in 20 mins (7:30am WA time).

I imagine we're not favourites as usual though. Playing against USA.

Can't believe Fremantle re-signed that hack de Boer. Poor man's McGinnity.

She goes alright. Speedy striker and you can tell she's Daniel's sister.

As far as her game goes I was a little bit distracted in the second half with Juddy's presser but saw she copped a knock in the back. Had a real good opportunity to score off a volley in the first half but the USA goalie was hard to beat.

#CJudd3votes. Enough said, thanks for the memories Juddy!!!

U.S. goalie is one of the best in the world, U.S. women's team is insanely good, Australia were right in it by all reports until the sealer, good effort by the sounds.

Good effort for sure but they ran ran out of legs in the second half. Could have easily been up at H/T but the USA goalie is arguably the best in the world and pulled off a couple of stunning saves early.

The 3rd goal was an Aussie turnover in the back half that USA hurt us on.

On the subject of bias

I regularly watch Footy Classified (don't ask me why I punish myself so but I do). Most weeks Freo and West Coast barely rate a mention and their games are usually given a cursory mention at best which is odd since those two sides have occupied the top 2 spots on the ladder until this weekend with Freo actually being undefeated and 2 games clear.

Lo and behold both games this weekend were given a fair amount of air time focusing on how good the wins were by North and Richmond with barely a mention of their opponents. I really do wonder if they actually realise they have an audience outside of Victoria

What I also found interesting was how they specifically described the "Perth media" as complaining about Harveys campaigner act but when they referred to the commentary bias they didn't isolate as the Victorian media that were sooking about it
Yeah thought the same thing, North were oh so brave and that Harvey was clever.

I cannot stand Paul Hasleby on 6PR. Carries on like he's the greatest player / coach the game has ever seen.

have to laugh at the Vic media. All of a sudden Ziebell is captaincy material. Didn't realize beating West Coast was held in such high esteem.

Thats no new news Nuke. Succession plans are an "in thing" these days and this has been in the pipeline at North for a couple of years now. Brayshaw anointing him as the next captain has just ramped up the speculation that's all.

I spoke with Andrew Swallow only a couple of weeks ago and he said it's likely to happen just not sure what stage of his career. Obviously Andrew is hesitant to hand over the captaincy of a Preliminary final side from 2014 who added a couple of experienced players to try keep the premiership window ajar (hasn't worked yet) but I think it will be done by the start of 2018 at the latest.

Swallow had the captaincy handed to him while Boomer was still playing and I think the same thing will happen with Ziebell. Stands out massively to me as leadership material.

lucky win in a storm against a poor performing, understrength and very young side that kicked inaccurately.

plus a dodgy umpire handing the a goal.

But you are right a feat greater than climbing Everest. Ziebell even broke a Gaff tackle

Crazy theyre starting to talk about replacing a 27/28? yr old captain already. Ziebells only 3 or 4 years younger than Swallow

Guess that's what succession plans are about. there are two thoughts on it, the first one being blood the new captain while the old one is still at the club and playing using the old captain as a mentor, sounding board and leader or to have your current skipper retire and blood the new captain with a new group around him.

You can argue it hasn't worked at Carlton with the Judd to Murphy succession but that's probabaly because it's Marc Murphy more than anything else. :D

Where as you can argue that it has worked at North with the Harvey to Swallow succession plan and Collingwood with Maxwell to Pendlebury

At a club like Adelaide and Brisbane who have gone NVB > Walker and Adcock > Rockliff it's early to tell

My favourite bit is when they give someone captaincy to try and make them a good player (Murphy, Trengove, not Ziebell)

West Coast had a similar situation with the Kemp/Cousins co-captaincy. Not really a succession plan, but partnering up the experienced hand in Kemp with the young leader Cousins definitely would have helped mould Cousins into the amazing on-field leader he was.

I like 6PR to catch up on a bit of footy whilst driving, I even enjoy listening to Peter Bell's views on footy (most of them) and Michael Barlow seems intelligent and impaetial. But I turn it off when Hasleby comes on. He's a complete ****head that offers very absolutely nothing.
