Last night's Hawthorn team ranks 33rd. It was the fourth-oldest ever outside the period 1919-47, after two 1904 Collingwood teams and one from Port in 2005. Ages were pushed up during wartime/post-war.

Hawks still have the fourth oldest list of the teams this year and still in the perfect age bracket to still be a powerhouse over the next few years and can never count them out, even now you just neve know. Sam Mitchell and Shaun Burgoyne are still playing at there peak as everyone really does peak at different ages while gibson, Hodge and the others had great years and are a few years younger. As an exercise scientist without injury Age Means nothing no days, Look at Harvey. Freo finished top with the oldest team and Mitchell has a chance to win the Brownlow, not saying he will win but he defiantly has a chance. As a supporter of non of these teams I think West Coast are peaking at perfect time and it will probably be a great West Coast vs Freo granny this year which would be a super game. But West Coast will be tough to beat!
