Hawks ran at 79% effectiveness tonight - a pleasure to watch. Wish this was the AFL standard.

Dockers had plenty of contested possessions and heaps more clearances, but the Hawks just pressured and kicked it forward so well.

Inflated stat due to Hawthorn's short kicking style. Freo had them on the ropes but couldn't convert. 2 incorrect free kick goals and two Miskicks in the backline cost Freo the game. Add to that the missed set shots and it's clear that the better general play team lost tonight.

Both us or North could have won tonight. I hope Hawthorn show up like this next week.

I must have been watching a different game. On the ropes? Hawks led most of the night, always looked dangerous while Freo never looked like they were going to get over the line unless the Hawks rolled over, which they did not.

If we win tomorrow, we will be well and truly up against it.
