Thought it was worth at least one, but hey is what it is.

Further highlights just how inconsistent the whole process is

Not under the rules.

The key point is Jeff Gleeson went rogue and tried to look for hidden meaning in the laws, instead of reading them as they actually are written resulting in us being here.

Madness

Awful decision on JVR.

1. Didn't have his eyes on the ball.
2. Opponent sufficiently injured to leave the field, in a game decided by 5 points.

Worth every bit of the 2 weeks he was originally sanctioned for.

Reckon the AFL hierarchy won't let this one slide.

Bullshit, it was an attempted spoil that unfortunately resulted in a player being injured.

Change isnt well accepted by some, but there is change

Ballard got kneed or kicked in the back of the head before the JVR incident. Wonder if that contributed to the impact because what JVR did was pretty innocuous. Glad he got off.

The only reasonable option.
It's a contact sport and people do get hurt.

AFL will do nothing.

Eyes were definitely on the ball

Everything is attempted something, attempted shephard gone wrong, attempted bump gone wrong, attempted tackle gone wrong, attempted spoil gone wrong.
Spot the difference? No difference, if you hit someone in the head it's reportable.

No more high marks then I guess, wouldn't want a a knee to the back of the head.

It's a contact sport, there's is going to be incidental head knocks regardless of how stupidly the AFL try and overlegislate it.

Two tassie politicians have quit the liberal party (ie the current government) to become independents over construction of the new stadium in Hobart. The Government is now in minority. Both claim they can't see any business case to build it (which I agree with). It will be interesting if this derails the stadium and what it means for the new team.

Typical of Gil, chooses an outcome and then works on people to support the solution (even if it's not the best). I'm glad someone is calling this garbage out - retrofit the existing one and save the money.

I also can't imagine that a team whose financial viability has always been the issue would benefit from a white elephant of a stadium.

This post, plus the ones from RDT, the anniversary of the White Stripes album and the content of this week's episode of Dave has been all about 🐘 and I'm starting to think the universe is trying to tell me something.

Elephant for dinner tonight?

"We aren't happy with your ivory collection, prepare to be trampled"?

I remember that clearly and always think about it when there’s cases like JVR.

I recall Yeo was in incredible form before that suspension and it derailed his season a bit.

He was in superstar form indeed. Taking massive hangs, huge runs and looked like Brownlow smokey.

Career absolutely ruined by OP.

There was some speculation at the time that Saints medical report had stitched him up too. And the slowing down of the incident to make it look like he arrives late when he's running flat out and jumped before the ball arrived just set him up.

Did we contest it? I was filthy at him getting rubbed out. These sorts of accidents happen every game and yet we were doing unexpectedly well and low and behold our damaging half back gets rubbed out.

We started getting a bit out of Shepp and Wellingham as well. Good times. Fun season that was.

Josh Hill kicked 40 goals too.
