I too thought that incident deserved scrutiny. He was so far behind Higgins that he was no realistic chance, in diving, to do anything but tap or grab at his ankles.

So Hurley missed this week through injury. Enough evidence to see Hannebury sighted?

In other news. What the F*** was different between Goodes and Sidebottom? Both have stupid names, booth have premierships, both are established AFL players. Oh wait, one is a fine upstanding citizen of the year, the other is suppose to be a toothless, narrow minded outspoken centreline bum.

Luke Darcy summed up the feelings of most on the Hot Breakfast this morning. "Ive given up trying to guess what the MRP are going to do".

Goodes was always going to cleared. Once the Appeals tribunal cleared Viney it changed the way head contact is adjudicated. There was nothing in the Goodes incident.

What was different between the Goodes hit and the Sidebottom hit? (apart from the players involved)

* both left the ground
* both impact the head
* both were 'going' for the ball
* both had other options (wait and tackle, bump, ride opposition player, go ball)
* both players returned to the ground (Selwodd & Weller)

Really not a great deal different..

Well for a start, Mav Weller was subbed out with concussion.

And yes I know, that should not make a difference between 0 weeks and 4 weeks, yet here we are.

Was that the ONLY difference?

Was he really? (I didn't see any other matches bar the Essendon ones this weekend).

It is really, really god damn pathetic of the MRP to rely more favourably on the medical report rather than the bloody action. So if Selwood is knocked out and Weller plays out the game then Goodes gets weeks?

Does the medical report now determine that Hannerbury should get weeks due to Hurley missing with a back injury (presumably) from the hit?

Goodes could have gone low, but he want past the ball and high.
A while ago just intent could get you suspended. The MRP is the most inconsistent shit ever.
Monday afternoon is an absolute lottery.

Have absolutely no idea how you can leave the ground, jump into an opponent hitting him in the head in the process and not be charged.

Big difference - Is that Weller had the ball and Sidebottom came from nearly 10 metres back. There is a world of difference.

upon impact, not a great deal. After all, it's the impact that is scrutinised not the prior actions.

One involved such a brave player knocking out a Selwood, it's different where it counts (See also Boomer Harvey on another Selwood...).

Goodes got off because there wasn't sufficient force. (something User Phone absolutely did not predict. no way. absolutely not). Goodes jumped off about one step (keeping in mind he changed direction and slowed down). Sidebottom jumped off a rather bigger run-up. That is a very important and very big detail when we're talking about force....

Your Honour, I enter exhibit "A" into evidence.......Force=Mass x Acceleration!

What on earth does that have to do with it?

A jump and bump to the head is a jump and bump to the head, regardless of whether the other player has the ball.
