Looks like our only real chance of finishing top 2 is for Pies to win today and then lose next week to the Blues. Good news for us is that Blues will have to win to play finals unless the Bulldogs lose to Hawthorn. Thankfully both those games are on at the same time so both will have alot to play for.

Next week is really shaping up as one final test to see if we have the premiership credentials this year. Best team will be in so no excuses, looking forward to seeing if we are good enough.
If we beat Melbourne, and one of the following:
  • Collingwood win or draw, and lose next week
  • Sydney win, and lose next week
  • Sydney win, win next week, but lose a bunch of relative percentage in the process
Then we finish second.

If we beat Melbourne and none of those three scenarios happen, we finish third and play a QF @ the winner.

Collingwood has Carlton next and Sydney St Kilda.

With their percentage it is near on impossible for the Saints to make finals now, if we need them to beat the Swans next week they are almost no chance, Swans will have too much to play for.

We really should be hoping for a Magpies win today.

Crazy things can happen in the last round of the year Jason. Saints are one of those teams that can do anything. Nothing would frustrate their supporters more than belting Sydney the week after they are knocked out of finals. :D

Yep, when you think about it it's not that crazy, I have seen a lot crazier things in my 60+ years on this planet.:shoutyoldman:

Might be one of the worst decisions I've seen in some time that one.
Yep. Collingwood player was meant to retreat to the end of goal square, but didn't. Therefore it must be play on. If play on then he was under pressure and should have been a point.

Wow that is interesting what about Marvel?

Round 21, 2008.

They played a Collingwood home game at the GABBA in 2020, but otherwise that MCG match in 2013 and the GABBA match in 2020 are Collingwood's only home games against Sydney since 2010 (and there's only been three other games in Melbourne since 2004, and one was a final).

Pies have won a lot of close games which help heaps for confidence
A loss at this time will bring them back to reality
Glad Swans win this one even though they have a better % than us

We just have to beat Demons and move into the finals in a winning mindset
