So be it. The remaining weeks are an opportunity to keep ironing out some new things, getting the confidence back and preparing us to reload in 2026.
The only questions left is will we get games into promising youngsters and will we get the retirements in season for some of our veterans

I think if there are any players that are booked in for end of year surgery, get them underway early, otherwise, continue to select and play on merit.

The Tigers v Bombers clash was more a small bump than a clash. Like you know, accidentally almost hitting someone with your shoulder in the corridor. The score line shows just how much scintillating footy was played. None. I mean 16-17 Scoring Shots. This game was a real test. Of who could play worse. The ball bounced around between the half forward of one team and the half forward of the other. It could have been a case that both defences were just that good. But nah, not true, the mids of both sides wasted the ball so much and so easily that you could be forgiven for thinking it was deliberate. Maybe the mids just felt sorry for the backs? I dunno.

But what I do know is we have had a couple of cracker games and this wasn't one of them. The gap between say a GWS and these guys is just going to grow until they mature. Both of these sides are hitting the Young Team Wall that seems to suddenly appear toward the end of a season.

I think there is merit to playing Snell and Dattoli

Dattoli imo has earned it and there is marginal short term (2025) gains from playing Hamling over Snell

Shocker of standard that Tige/Dons game. You'd hope to bury that one and never see the light of day again.
It's a fine line when you go into a rebuild especially when you get on a run of terrible losses like the Tigers. The effect on the younger players confidence can't be good either long term.
You can see what's happened to North and West Coast over the last few years the Tigers could easily join them in the wilderness for a few years.
The Dons I would give them a slight get of jail card because of their injury list.

Caleb Serong has been proven to be rendered completely ineffective with a hard tag, in back-to-back weeks by Windhager & Jordon. Sam Mitchell selects Finn Maginness in Hawthorn's 23. Clever. Their best tagger, against the most tag-able opposition player. Seems logical.

Then starts Maginness as sub. Serong has 29 touches and 9 clearances, the most on ground.

It's fun seeing coaches' arrogance come back to bite them on the arse.

Serong is a decent player, much better than that Stephens guy.

Ahaha that was an all time blunder on the face of it but it might have helped us realise Heeney on ball

Particularly when it's an arrogant arse like Mitchell

This year's finals will be super intriguing because it feels like nearly all of the contenders basically have a gun key forward who looks like they could tear a game apart - Brisbane (Morris), Adelaide (Thilthorpe), GWS (Cadman), Bulldogs (Darcy), Gold Coast (King), Fremantle (Treacy) and Geelong (Cameron, who is sorta the only veteran in these names)

And then there's Collingwood, who look a level above the rest of the competition, but whose leading goalkickers this year are three veterans all 192cm or under in Elliott, Mihocek and Membrey.

So it's gonna be really interesting to see which forward set-up ends up winning in the end.

It won’t be Collingwood that’ll win this year. No team that has lost to the Suns in the home & away season hasn’t gone on to win the flag. You’re welcome :)

Crows have 2 key forwards who can tear a game apart imo, 3 If you believe Tex can still.
