What do you guys thing the odds on us beating Richmond next week are? lol

Suddenly this has become a much more dangerous game for us than it should have been. We are unlucky to get the tigers after tha cats have clawed them - we get them on the rebound. I don't like the lead-in to this game now.

Oh come on, if there was a bigger un-danger game half the opposition would be wheelchair bound and the rest would lack all sensory organs.

Agreed. Richmond have been serverely spanked and Port were far from their best today, so Saturday is a danger game, although footy park is not a happy hunting game for Richmond when they play Port.

Especially if they sack the coach.

It's only a danger game if the team let it be one. I try and refrain from predicting thrashing, but with Richmond's form, unless we have half a dozen changes due to injuries after players pull up or on the training track, if we don't win by at least 10 goals then serious questions have to be asked.

Richmond are completely demoralised. They won't be as bad as they were today but there will be no rebound.

Port by 50-70

A week's a long time in footy, and the players need to focus for this game just as they would for any other. It's one week at a time, and I would not feel comfortable about predicting a flogging.

If Geelong can do that then so can we. Im not expecting us to but the players should be viewing this match as a win. Thats not to say there isnt a possibility of it being a danger game. Richmond were embarrassed, almost more than any team I can remember since Fitzroy left. They will want to make up for it. We have to make sure we stay on top of it.

The odds will be something crazy. We'll be about $1.05 for the win.

It depends why they fell apart today. There's talk on the main board that there's unhappiness about the retirement of Gaspar and the way Wallace handled it. I've got absolutely no idea if there's any truth at all in that but if that were the case it's hard to see morale improving quickly.

On the other hand if the players are not unhappy with the coach they might well put in a super effort against us in order to salvage pride.

The only safe thing is to assume Richmond will come out fired up.

We should smash them, but we can't get ahead of ourselves.

I hope Pettifer keeps up the great form. The little finger pointing coward.

If it were any other team I'd agree, but I'm not sure that Richmond are capable of being fired up.

This game reminds me a lot of our game against richmond last year in round 8 I think. They had been smashed the week before, there was no way we could lose etc etc. Terry Wallace is often quite good in this situation and as the showdown a few weeks ago reminded everyone, port can really struggle against a well executed running flood. Could be a good game yet, I picked melbourne this week and they nearly came through for me ;), still I don't think I'll pick richmond.

Thanks for the reality check.

Melbourne certainly didn't play like a side that was 0-5 today and I don't expect Richmond to be as bad against us as they were today.

We also have a number of players who will be missing through injury (Salopek, Wilbur, Chappy and Kane).

Totally disagree, I think once you start viewing a match as a win, is where complacency comes in. viewing it as a should win is different (not sure if thats what you meant), and realising to do that requires hunger and respect for the opposition. Who can keep with up with Richo in pace, height and strength? Our midfield is far superior, and we should win comfortably, but...
