"Hello boys, I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I agree. It's nuts if they stick him in at 7. Will wind me up no end. Have to play Maxwell at 7.
I don't really wanna see Maxwell stuck into the old Smith "be a x-factor!!!" role either. I mean, he'd be better at it than Smith, but it's just a shitty role. Really, I think it's easy enough to stick Haddin there and bat whichever one of Smith/Maxwell plays up to at least 6, maybe 5.

Smith needs to improve his batting a bit from 22 but his bowling average of 34 is pretty handy and he's an outstanding fielder. He's also probably a victim of playing the big hitting, late order batsmen at 7 which doesn't give him an opportunity to build an innings. He only bats in around 60% of his games - quite difficult to get some consistency.

Hughes and Finch to open hopefully, they've both been in great form!
Not sure why anyone would think about opening with Haddin when you have two openers in the form of their life? Can't fit Smith in, Maxwell took his chance averaging 40 odd with a massive SR.

Hughes
Finch
Khawaja
Bailey
Hussey
Maxwell
Haddin

Why is it stupid to open with Hughes? He's single handedly carried the Redbacks ODD team as an opener.

Because there isn't an full time opening spot to fill, and Hughes has played plenty of OD cricket at first drop anyway. You're better off letting Usman fill in for Warner and giving Hughes the chance to seal the first drop spot, allowing Clarke to move down to 4. Instead of having Hughes open, perform, and then be moved to first drop anyway.

(actually, there's probably a case for saying Finch should be used at first drop. Warner/Watson will be the full strength opening combo almost no matter what, so let finch audition for that spot. anyway, i'd be mighty disappointed if Usman was the one given first drop. also in my world, warner's spot is up for grabs )

mckay is always shit and any good performances by him are painful blows
McKay has not been bowling smartly in the Big Bash this season. Obviously the dynamics of T20 are different to that of 50 over games, but I think he would be better off staying closer to the formula which has seen him being quite successful in ODIs.

Ironic if you add M. Hussey's name to the squad it looks infinately better.

Underwhelming squad...S.Smith sheesh they luv this bloke, but not quite as bad when they picked him to bat 6 for the last ashes series.
FFS, Smith averages 66 in the Ryobi Cup this season with a SR of 114. He is one of the most in form one day batsman in Aus atm besides Hughes and Finch.

George Bailey(capt), How this guy is captain i have no idea. Huge spud. 13 matches without a century to his name. Average of 40 i can deal with but captain, really?
Phillip Hughes, On ya Hughesey, likely inclusion.
Usman Khawaja, Like how he go's about it, good to see him get a look in even if its an ODI
Aaron Finch, FINCHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
David Hussey, HUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Brad Haddin (wk), HADDSSSSSYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Glenn Maxwell, SPUD! good ave. but very annoying to watch domestically. will surely crumble against a good attack.
Steven Smith, Spud smith needs to hit puberty then come back and have a go.
Mitchell Johnson, Dirty leaky spud. Good when on but go's missing far too often. That run up shits me to tears.
Ben Cutting, Dont know much about him, Another young fast bowler. Prob get injured.
Mitchell Starc, Leaky, but has potential.
Clint McKay, Leaky and spud like hes victorian so gets the benefit of the doubt.
Xavier Doherty. Spud. I like old doh dog but you cant fight fate. Spud.

5 confirmed spuds and 1 on the verge of potato territory. Luckily its against the spud lankans but anything can happen against W.I so could be a tough summer.

Sri Lanka are only 1 place/3 points below us on the ODI rankings...

Great. They're still a giant bag of citrus fruits.
I have no doubt it will come back to bite me, but after watching they're tests closely i think the back bone they once had is broken. Warrented, with Malinga, Parera and Mendis into the bowling attack will make them a lot more menacing. Still, really shouldnt trouble the aussies that much.

Lets just be thankful that Cameron White has been banished to the potato plains, and hopefully for good. SPUD.
