Looking at that squad maxwell is the one i would leave out. Henriques is a better bowler and you need to get 10 overs out of Hussey and an all rounder and i would prefer thats henriques over maxwell.

this discussion is a really good example of why over restrictions suck. no-one should actually want to see glenn maxwell or moises henriques or daniel chrisitan or any of those shitty all rounders picked at the cost of a proper batsman or proper bowler

henriques makes sense in a "pick the best team you can from these 12 guys!" sense, for the reason you say. but that's not how they're picking their teams. they're focused on the ashes (and to a slight extent, the champions trophy) and Maxwell is obv. more likely to play a test than henriques right now (and henriques is more likely than faulkner who is...etc), so i expect maxwell to play, and they'll hope the 4 bowlers are all good enough to get through their 10 each, so dussey and maxwell only have to chip in with 10.

Cutting stays in instead of Henriques.Cuttings bowling,batting and fielding is way ahead of MS at the moment.
I would've given Clarke another weeks rest and kept either of the 2 batsman in.

It seems his idiotic selection has rubbed off on Tony from Kalgoorlie, who lacks the capacity to identify his own hypocrisy, on the foxsports website... "I do belive that Coulter-Nile has done enough for selection above Moises Henriques. However all these arm chair selectors bagging everyone out i do not see your names up for selection!"

I'd prefer Steve smith to both maxwell and Henriques, but the thing with maxwell is sofar he's been extraordinarily unthreatening with the ball, and has had about 10 separate brain explosions with the bat.
I realise that he's still young and inexperienced, but I don't think he's a good enough bat to justify his place as a batsmen, and he's definitely not a good enough bowler to justify his place as an all rounder.

On top of this I also sort of understand the Henriques selection, as he has played well for the blues this summer, and with doubts about watson some good odi and shield cricket in the coming months could stamp his ticket to India.
