Jeez, talk about people overblowing the situation. That list looks about right.

If we HAVE to lose one or two of those players, does that mean the Blues need to lose Murphy or Gibbs?

Does that mean Melbourne should lose Mclean or Jones?

Do Essendon need to lose Gumbleton or Ryder?

Didak and/or Fraser will be shopped around as trade bait if we are to get Judd. Adelaide are reportedly chasing Didak so we will get ahold of a top10 pick-maybe top5 if Didak is to be traded.

A top 10 pick/top5 pick + another first rnd pick (14) would be an equitable trade. Maybe throw in a sweetener as well.
No Carlton will not have to trade Murphy or Gibbs because we have high draft picks, as do essendon and melbourne. Collingwood don't and therefore will need to offload some serious talent

dalethomas13 - What if its Pick 10 from the Crows for Didak, together with 14.

10 and 14 are a distant 4th in the competition, probably 5th behind Richmond.

Say Judd says 'Pies', WCE say 'nup', Judd threatens PSD, WCE says 'go for it'...Pies won't get him on that basis. You would need something else. That's what this is all about.

Clubs with picks 1 to 5 are useful to the Eagles and to the Pies, if you can get one of those picks to win Judd. The question is - which other young talent are you going to move on?

Dont say Rusling - Rusling isn't top 10 worthy.

Pick 10 isn't necessary and with a year to go on his contract, Didak will only go if he demands it. He begged to continue playing at Collingwood after the incident earlier in the year. He wants to stay. The club won't give him up.

Pick 5 from the bulldogs is more likely the drawcard. Many Bulldog fans would be happy to give up pick 5 for Reid.

Pick 5 and 14 could beat 3 and 20 in WC's eyes, particularly since WC are so good at extracting the best talent with the picks available and depending on what other players were on the table. This also assumes carlton and collingwood have to bid against each other, which may never eventuate.

What about the Pies trading Brown or Reid for pick #5 from the WBD?

They need KPP badly and these boys were #8 and #10 in a super draft...are they not worth pick #5 in a thin draft? :thumbsd::confused::thumbsu:

I think Collingwood would be mad to let any of those guys go ...

which is why they won't get Judd.

I can't believe what i'm reading from some people on this thread.

Judd is the best player in the AFL and is only 24 - yes there are actually no other players as good as him.
But lets not include Dawes in a trade for him - because Dawes is a bit younger and might become even better than Judd?
Even Thomas and Pendlebury, who i wouldn't trade, are very unlikely to end up as valuable as Judd. To say Reid, Dawes and Clark are untouchable is ridiculous!

Funniest part is if you go through enough of these threads basically the entire Pies first 22 is 'untouchable'.

Yesterday in another thread one Pies fan was trying to convince the world on who could and couldn't be traded.....another, more realistic Pies fan suggested Brown / Rusling / Pick 14.....no sooner had I replied that there was some merit to it....up came the posts saying no young KPP. Someone suggested Didak, nope, he doesn't want to go.

So far from the original list in this thread, and hence why talking the Judd trade with Pies fans is kind of like masterbating with a cheese grater (mildly amusing but basically painful), the actual list of Collingwood players NOT mentioned as untradeable at one point or another by a Pies fan is as follows....

Chris Bryan - behind Guy Richards in the pecking order
Scott Burns - 33 years old
James Clement - retired
Ryan Cook
Chris Egan
Sam Iles
Paul Licuria
Ryan Lonie
Shane O'Bree - 29 and slow when he was 20
Presti - 30 in January and not in your 22
Guy Richards - need a I even clarify
Alan Toovey - who has had all bar hatemail on the Pies own board

So as long as we can get a deal done amongst this stellar group of gentleman, not forgetting the lowest draft pick of the four aparante contenders, everything should be sweet.

You may be right but its not a linear relationship between the quality of those picks. That's why I suggested 5,10 and 14 may get there.

yeah, who knows what WC are thinking. They would have a fair idea of who they want to draft and how far down they're likely to go. After draft camp, they'll know exactly what their stakes are.

You'd have to think 5, 10 and 14 would easily get it over the line though.

i think the wa boys they're after are in the top 4 picks. they don't wanna risk picking up a gun from vic only to have to trade him later down the track like judd. that's where i see carlton & melbourne in the box seat.
