If they did the call out, call the player on stage, do the jumper hand over, get some pictures taken etc, that gives a few minutes for commentators to have a bit of a talk, maybe show some footage and quickly talk about it. They could easily do that for the top 10 picks and it would be much more interesting to watch. Then just do the usual limits for the remaining picks, with the breaks between rounds to let the commentators again have a bit of a 'round review' talk about good picks and potential players not yet taken etc. Woudl present a heck of a lot better to EVERYONE ON THE ENTIRE PLANET so i don't know why they persist with this rubbbish. I say it every year, but it's yet to happen, i sure hope someone gets fired over this.

I think 6:30pm Qld time, but am keeping an eye out for confirmation.
Thanks Quigs but I just saw on twitter that selections start in 30 mins so 5:30 Queensland time!

P.S. The bloody draft tracker is pissing me off. You click on the 2011 NAB draft tracker and it goes to the 2010 version. Is anybody else having this problem?

The Fox Sports coverage in Queensland doesn't even start until 6pm. So unless it is delayed coverage, I can't see it starting at 5:30.

LS: I imagine when it said selections start in half an hour that they meant the private locked top 10 selection.

Loving the new polo shirts by the way. The striped ones were rubbish!

Lions website:

5.36pm - The Lions contingent has arrived at Olympic Park. GM Football Dean Warren, Senior Coach Michael Voss, National Talent Manager Rob Kerr, National Recruiting Manager Graeme Hadley, Assistant Recruiting Manager Stephen Conole, and Manny Lynch and Nathan Clarke from the Welfare, Leadership and Culture department are all on the floor.

I've got the 2011 tracker up without a problem. Starting to get anxious now, can't wait to find out who our new kids are. Can not imagine how it feels for the kids ! Even though the top 15 know they are getting on an AFL list somewhere, just to find out where you're going to end up would be nerve racking.
