Yay
Blease has still got a long way to go become an A-grade mid.
Completely irrelevant - I'm talking about the recovery time from injury.

played as a mid before his injury, then as a forward during this year. no doubt he's still on the road to recovery even though he is playing, and i dont know if he'll ever be a pure midfielder again. probably too many question marks to be top 10Selwood only slipped to 6/7, but at the time was regarded as the best mid, but as you say had an injury question mark. Where has Stringer been playing at under 18 level?
Please no more utilities. I want a gun mid, not a forward who can take a turn in the midfield.
Voss and Barlow were/are pure midfielders after their broken legs...won't be an issue.played as a mid before his injury, then as a forward during this year. no doubt he's still on the road to recovery even though he is playing, and i dont know if he'll ever be a pure midfielder again. probably too many question marks to be top 10

no doubt he will be able to return to the midfield, just whether whichever club picks him puts him forward or midfieldVoss and Barlow were/are pure midfielders after their broken legs...won't be an issue.
Good job (y)
I agree with most of your decisions, especially letting GC take Viney if they were to bid. Personally, I'm still not convinced with Grundy. Maybe you can persuade me? Our ruck stocks are alright so I personally don't see us going for a ruck with 4.
As for 13, I'm liking the looks of Dayle Gartlett. Reminds me of Pearce in his early days; quick, athletic and elite kicking. Would also consider Menzel as we sorely lack goal kickers. How injury prone is he though?
As for 26 and 45, I would like a solidly built mid and a KPF, preferably not skinny.
Yeah the Menzel's seem to have dodgy genetics which is sure to see him slide. I honestly think Stringer is too good a prospect to pass up at 13 though as he is a potentially elite KPF prospect aswell as being able to play as a Hodge-like inside mid (Knightmare's words) and in defense. Garlett, Kennedy and Menzel are the others I'm considering at that pick.
Looks like Stringer and Menzel are high risk, high reward players that won't last past pick 20?
I think Viney will be a determining factor for these two.
If Viney is Pick 3, I think MFC will play it safe and pick best option at 13.
If Viney slips to second round, you will have pick 3,4 and Viney. Why not have a crack at a high risk high reward player?

Why draft Stringer at 4 when we can pick up a better midfielder and wait until 13, where there's still a good chance he'll be around?Stringer would most likely be the no1 pick if it wasn't for his broken leg too. Even if he doesn't become a pure mid again, though I'm pretty certain he will, he has the size and strength to be a gun power forward anyways. I'd be all for drafting him at 4 if as you say we get Viney in the second round. Dunno about Menzel though, with the LARS and him having injured his PCL recently i think he may just be too risky even at 13.
I highly doubt he'll be around at 13. Stringer has superstar potential and before breaking his leg was the best mid in the country. It was just an idea is all, you watch if he can get his fitness levels back to what they were pre leg break the kid could very well be the best player from this draft. Why draft Stringer at 4 when we can pick up a better midfielder and wait until 13, where there's still a good chance he'll be around?

And all this is according to.... you? No doubt the kid has talent but let's not carried away.
As I've posted before - this kid dominated TAC Cup as a two year underager; I bet he'll get up to speed in an AFL environment and dominate sooner rather than later.
So did Tom Swift.... there are no sure things after a serious injury.
You have never seen him play recently have you? He'll never be a power forward. If you want to draw a comparison with a current AFL player:Stringer would most likely be the no1 pick if it wasn't for his broken leg too. As I've also already posted, Tom Swift dominated 16 year olds as a 16 year old - not TAC Cup players.
You have never seen him play recently have you? He'll never be a power forward. If you want to draw a comparison with a current AFL player:
Best Case Scenario: Paul Chapman
Most Likely Scenario: A cross between Chapman and Tapscott
We're more likely to give up pick 4 to get Hogan, who has got the makings of a gun power forward.

Melbourne are very keen on Adam Carter, with good reason.
Plus the Brent Moloney compensation, if we don't have any free agency additions (although Byrnes looks likely).Does that mean Melbourne are expecting to take Viney at 3? Considering how Carter will be late-first/early second, you wouldn't have any picks other than 26 to obtain his services.

You may be on to something...
