Official Changes Vs Dons

Nathan has been quiet of late, so hopefully Hawkins can have an impact.

Nothing out of the ordinary with those changes. Prismall/Hunt would come in for Bartel one would think.

I think Tenace is more experienced, faster on the dome track and in his games this year has done little wrong.

If you want to be angry at someone over Prismalls exclusion look no further than Selwood.

We lost a speed flanker/on-baller in Rooke and gained Tenance.

Its the in and under inexperienced but determined Selwood that is keeping Prismall out of the side.

Team balance, something that the cats finnaly understand.

Never thought of Rooke as a speedy flanker, rather as a tough in and under player/tagger, which is more like Prismall rather than Tenace. I'd have brought Prismall or DJ in before looking at Black Jack.

two of the emergencies will play i heard mackie and either harley or wojcinski will not play

If Mackie isn't playing and only misses a week, the cheer squad will need a banner the length of the MCG next week just to fit all the milestones on. :D

I know all the rage has been on Prismall, but the forgotten man who I certainly count as being unlucky is DJ.

I'm not his biggest fan, but he (at the very least) appeals as a decent straight-swap for Rookey. Tough, courageous, and all that, but another option for the fleet footed smaller options the Dons can (and should) put out on the park.

Totally agree GeeCat. That was my prediction.

I think its the type of game for Monica and Tenace to run riot in the middle, no 'weather' to speak of, a dry, solid ground with no wind and no rain.....should be a high scoring affair.

Hawkins is a good swap for Nablett, both have similar forward line pressure and both assist the forwards well, i just hope for Hawkins sake he at least kicks 2 or more goals, just needs some consistency even with it being his first season.

Perfect oppotunity for Tenace to shine this week ,Should be no reason for him not to be ready for a big one. Lets hope he doesnt let himself down.

Not sure if it is a good or bad thing, but I think Hawkins and Nablett are similar types of kids, in that they will probably only play their best in the seniors. You won't ever get the best out of them from the 2's.

Tenace in is good to me. i think he is improving, and was stiff to be dropped, though someone had to go. Was very good last time at the Dome against the saints. Similar player to Woj, who also has taken years to find consistency rather than flashiness.

Not sure about Tenace - I wasn't impressed with him the last couple of games, he seemed very indecisive and his decision-making/disposal was appalling. Perhaps the dry track at the Dome will be more to his liking?

I was waiting for Nath to be ommitted. He hasn't looked right for weeks and last week when he was crashed into after that marking contest in the first (I think) quarter, that must have kept him sore. Hopefully the big axe will have an impact on the dry turf - he'll have a fun time of it against Michael! Definitely will need to use his burst pace on the lead because he'll have no hope wrestling for marks with Michael.

I don't imagine Tomahawk would have to move alot/cover alot of ground at the Dome anyhow. It's not as big/wide as the 'G etc, and roaming the fifty should be sufficient and overall not too demanding of him.

I thought we were concerntrating on not bagging our own this week. Maybe give it another go next week.

Tenace comes in with his appauling disposal (85.88% efficiency according to Champion Data but most on here obviously know better than the official statistitions of the AFL) to replace Rooke. Bomber said it was between Tenace, Hunt and DJ to replace Rooke probably meaning that he wanted someone to come in and quell Essendons small forwards, Davey & Lovett. Both were instrumental in the win v Melbourne so therefore you bring in a player who plays mainly in the backline, rather than a pure onballer in Pris.

I know it's sounds weird but it's actually common sense. If one of the mids don't come up then Pris will get a gig, being a midfielder and all.

We're all doing a good job keeping the lid on Geelong's finals chances this year but the lid on Prismall's expectations has been blasted into orbit

Voice of reason. Good post.
