So they won't add another youngster coming good because they already have a few? Not really getting your logic there, what's wrong with having more - partucarly when you may be about to lose one of those kids? Having said that I can't see us giving up Winderlich anyway, as his value to another club wouldn't be as high as it to us and he really was looking like he was taking that next step before fate intervened.ant555 said:Yes but people where talking about Brisbane wanting him , Brisbane already have a heap of young blokes strating to come good. Allen, Harding ,Stiller and Hooper to name 4. They wont be adding another to it.

In regards to that proposed trade, bloody hell, we seem to give up a lot. Two senior players and a pick to grab a kid that's doing okay, and particularly to a club that you say won't be in a position of power. Melbourne gets a better return.
Not 2 players and a pick, no way, it's ridiculous imho. Solly straight trade, or Bolton/Pev and a pick perhaps otherwise it can't be said that we're trading from a strong position as you are arguing. Anyway if you believe the paper this morning he's very close to signing with Brisbane.foj1 said:We are effectively trading 2-3 players who are fringe players at best for a player who could be a genuine A grade player. Also we have the capacity to replace Peverill with Jolley, losing Solly would mean greater opportunities for Nash, Bradley, Lee in the backline and Bolton would be borderline at best in terms of our list even though he has played a lot of games this year. Brisbane would be after some experience IMO as their list will be significantly younger and they will need players who are ready to play. It is why clubs recruit players like P Walsh, Guerra, Lonie, Murphy, Morrison, Montgomery, Fixter etc etc etc

Longy413 said:They didn't get that news from BigFooty did they?
Donsforever said:I'Ve got bad news guys. Article today in the Age saying that Rischitelli is set to stay a Lion and it extremely close to signing a new contract with Brisbane. This is a real shame, would have loved to have seen him in the red and black.![]()
Longy413 said:The Age also said Ricky Mott was coming to Essendon.

Crave said:He wont be coming to Essendon. The bloke is running a farm and has no intention of returning to AFL football. The hoax began on this site actually...
exactly, The Age has lost all its credability to me. They have to fill papers so they write a story which could be true without any actual knowledge.Longy413 said:The Age also said Ricky Mott was coming to Essendon.

I'd be happy to give a draft pick for Rischitelli if our chances for him in the PSD aren't very good, he's young, has skills and experience under his belt.

Aker, soly -> melb
Pev/Bolts, Miller, 3rd pick, late pick -> Bris
Rischitelli -> Essendon
we give up solly, pev or bolts and a late pick? Keep Pev/bolts and it would be a deal
demoniac said:um why would the Dees want a 27 year old Solomon, methinks we are not looking to add a player wiht the following attributes to our list - slow, poor disposal, undersized and undisciplined?
and why would the Lions want Bolton or Peverill, junk on your list is junk on other clubs lists.

Gibbs
Hurley
Thomas
Schmidt
Sellar
The one thing that stands out is that these guys use their heads and are very smart composed footballers. (something we really lack at the moment).
If we can pick up Schmidt and Hurley with mid to late picks. (hoping they fall through) then they'll really compliment our early picks whichever way we go.
