I'd go along with that. In terms of the football we've played, it wouldn't be in the top 5 of the titles that Fergie's won. But in another way, we didn't have Ronaldo for the first six weeks, we lost Rooney to injury, there was the issue of trying to fit Berbatov into our system, we lost our first choice defence for a month, and there were the fixture backlog. It was a title won on grit.

By my count, since we drew with Tottenham in mid-December, we've played 20 Premiership games for 18 wins and 2 losses. There's an article in the Guardian about how (ironically like 90s Liverpool) we built our title on crushing the weak teams whilst not necessarily performing against the stronger sides.

To give you an idea of what this means, consider this. When I started following United, we had 7 titles to Liverpool's 14. By the time the Premier League started, we still had 7, but Liverpool had 18. I would have been happy to see United win just 1 title. If you said to me then that United would get to 18 titles, level with Liverpool, I wouldn't have believed you.

IT's weird to think that just 4 seasons ago, it looked like Fergie was finished. Mourinho and Chelsea's money looked like dominating, and Benitez had just won the Champions League for Liverpool. Fergie pretty much has #18 in the bag for us, Mourinho is gone, and Liverpool have now gone three seasons of winning **** all.

Breathe it in guys. Enjoy it. There's a banner on the Kop, "Forever In Our Shadow". In 12 months time, those bastards will be in Manchester United's shadow.

Yup, two standing ovations coming from here ;)

I've noticed Ronaldo is never celebrating with the goal scorers anymore. Even when he scores from others great work, he runs away inviting them to come worship his marvellous goal.

Heart almost skipped a beat when Rooney was given a ride by Carrick and could've fell on his head on the way down!

Ronaldo is criticising his team mates when they miss or dont give him back the ball more then ever then you see him hit one outside the box late on and it was terrible. Fergie puts his arms out in disgust and Ronaldo looks at him like he did nothing wrong.

Ronaldo is getting more arrogant as time goes by.

That being said, he is a gun.

When he came out saying Fergie had told him to track back and not throw tantrums when the refs don't give him fouls, he didn't agree with what was said, but understands. So he clearly doesn't see what he does as a problem.

Wonder if we could sell him over the summer for the reported figure, then with his petulance and thinking he is bigger than Real will cause a falling out and then sold back to us at a cheaper price? :D

Nope if he goes that's it, especially as long as Fergie is there, once you are gone, you are gone in his eyes.

The celebration was hilarious but yeh imagine the uproar if he had injured himself.

Also Evra doing the Benitez!

I hope you enjoyed it - but I won't be until at least 11.35 on Saturday night. There could be some noise in my neighbourhood if it all goes to plan against the Arse.

Carrick is such a gun, when he dominates in midfield we always win it seems. Geez he made that goal so simple but geez it was difficult. Just one more point now...Stick it up those Gunners.

I've probably missed out on a player or two, but here's my quick take on the best United side from the 98/99, 99/00, and 00/01 teams against the 06/07, 07/08, and 08/09 teams.

First hat-trick team:

Schmeichel, G.Neville, Stam, Johnsen, Irwin, Giggs, Keane, Scholes, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Yorke

Bench: Barthez, Sheringham, Solksjaer, Cole, Silvestre

Second hat-trick team:

Van der Sar, Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Rooney, Tevez

Bench: Foster, Berbatov, Evans, Park, Scholes

Personally, I fiind it hard to split these sides. The first team has the better keeper, fullbacks, and sweeps the midfield. The second team is stronger in the other areas. But I reckon I'd give it to the 2nd side simply because they had to fight all the way for their three titles, whilst the first side fought hard for the 98/99 title, but had the other two sewn up by the end of January.

Evra and Rooney are my favourite players...I think Ronaldo can piss off now if he want's...giving me the shits with his tantrums all the time.

Today could be the day boys and girls. I'm excited, but also nervous. I really want us to win one at home, instead of at someone else's shithole like always seems to happen.
