Sherriff, I've thought long and hard about a poet for Travis. It's got to be a tragedian. Trav's the quintessential tragic hero, flaw and all (goal kicking = hamartia), and although I believe he'll overcome that in a timely manner, he needs a poet who can handle his epic qualities.

It was a toss-up between Shakespeare and Marlowe. I've gone for Marlowe, who once penned a play about an eastern despot entitled, Travis the Great. It included these lines:

Forsake thy club, and do but join with me, And we will triumph over all the world. I hold the Fates bound fast in iron chains, (Read Pies' fate)And with my hand turn Fortune's wheel about; And sooner shall the sun fall from his sphere Than Collingwood be slain or overcome.


Question for Invigoration, Sunnnytee, The Panther, Nardz, didak04, Timmy from Thomastown, Football God, Conodie05, Smiddaz 123, Amber Guzzler, Vampire 13, Lockyer 24, Bert 1 or any of our other boundary riders who habitually patrol the Troll-lands of Bay 13.

Is Collingwood's success making it harder or easier for you to do your valuable work atm?

We need a entire thread devoted to these, maybe in the Nest? We should do one for every player.

Awesome effort btw guys. If you're keen to start a new thread on them feel free to do so on the front page. It's still footy related so no probs there. It would get more exposure.

It could be entitled "An Ode to the boys" (just a suggestion)

I'm not sure 'Ode' is techinically correct but it sums up the noble and dignified sentiment.

I thought the cerebral Pope with his contolled structures suited the above.
