Draft position has has some impact especially with a younger player, but you waaaay over simplified. You emphasized the point that you'd put a few years development into him but didn't mention that he's barely shown anything at AFL level...

If you think Lisle is worth more than pick 40, put a value on him?

He absolutely smashed Dawes when we played Collingwood earlier in the year, and if he had his kicking boots on against Fremantle in Round 11 he could have easily kicked 4 or 5. Instead, he kicked 0.2, one OOF and one that fell short.

To say he's shown nothing is simply not true.

If Gillies was out of contract this year (which he isn't) I'd suggest a straight swap for Lisle. Unfortunately, I strongly doubt Geelong would even enter discussions with Hawthorn, due to being a top 4 contender.

He's one of those players that is worth more to the club than on the trade table, but because he's out of contract and apparently wanting out for better opportunities, we will probably lose him for very little or nothing.

Whoever lands him will get a very talented player.

He's worth more than pick 40, but as I said if he wants out then clearly we will have to accept whatever we can get, due to him being out of contract.

Adelaide fans wanted a top 10 pick for Gunston, and in the end had to settle for pick 24 and a couple of later upgrades.

Trengove signed an extension for 3 years this year with Tappy and Gawn, wouldn't be 450 like TMS suggested but would imagine it'd be around 300k (pure guess tho).

I think he got a solid bump to around 350 a year & a number of incentives to go with that too. I think he could go close to 450 a year is he meets his KRA's/KPI's over the next 3 years.

They knew Scully was gone for a long time before we did, so I think they invested in the loyalty & potential of trengove.

Getting Neeld and then the signing of some quality assistants plus the way you've conducted trade week so far,;with no stars of yours wanting to leave (not including Scully) and attracting arguably the biggest name of the week, it seems like a complete transformation in the way your operating.

We havent had a big bodied forward since Neitz retired.

Coincidentally we also havent made the Finals since then either.

We are in no position to knock back high a 200 cm, 100 kg high end talent, and Clark gives us what we need and then some.

Any MFC posters that dont want Clark are absolutely clueless and should stop posting immediately.
