We are back to the "us against them" thinking, that we had when we were tearing the comp a new one throughout the 70s into the early 80s.
Dont know if he had it in the back of his mind, but is it just a coincidence that a certain individual, who was front and center during that era, and saw how the late great G. richmond operated, played a big part in us now having the same? Food for thought. Me thinks it isnt just a coincidence. We needed a sting in the tail to get us out of the "inferiority complex" the club had built over the last decade and a half.
And the timing couldnt have been more perfect. Emerging young team on the cusp of mixing it in September action over the next 5 years, and now we are with our backs against the wall, and we include a super star, to that emerging team, who wants to prove all his detractors suck and is driven not only by his professional pride, but his wanting to prove a point, who has his back against the same wall. Luv ya work Sheeds.
