I'm on night shift so I thought I'd throw this out there.

The way I see our team model is ,we're fairly well covered down back.
We've got the key-backs covered,back flankers.
We lack a really fast rebounder i.e (yarran).
Our biggest weakness is a minder for the milne's and garlett types.

Our midfield is fairly solid, only deficiency is a gun inside mid (selwood, black).

Rucks, no need for concern there.

Our forwardline is where our draft model is at it's weakest. Our model set-up by bondy & co seems to have totally forgotten about bringing in young KPF.

We don't have a young KPF on our list. I don't think any other club could claim that title.

Our small forward stocks are fine.

The next 1-3 years of drafting are so critical,we simply can't draft 'best available' anymore,we've played those cards. We need to grab 3-5 potential KPF and pray that one of them makes the grade.I don't think we can rely on the free-agency card to fix our KPF.

I'm hoping like mad in the next few months a few young KPF standup and say pick me freo.I'd be stoked if we got Mason Shaw with our first pick in the 2012 ND.You'd think we're chance now that he'll probably miss the u/18's champs.

Maybe the club is planning on picking up a J-Pod over the summer.

Maybe the club thinks we need more than 3 rounds for Anthony, Pav, Bradley and Clarke to gel.

Maybe the club is more realistic than its supporters and thinks that we aren't a real shot at a premiership for another 3-4 years.

Zac Clarke goes alright, probably more a ruckman but the same thing could be said about Drew Petrie at the same age.

If you are talking KP forwards to win it in the near future, he is our best hope. Has the athletic ability required and is starting to pull down some big marks now, albeit not always in the best position to kick goals.

I don't rate our chances of getting Mason Shaw. Whilst injured he remains one of the few outstanding prospects for key position players, and I am already getting the sense that some of the teams who could be below us by the end of the season will bein the market. I am a little more bullish about getting Moeller as a ruck/forward but only a little. would be interested to see how tall Jack Martin is by that point of the year, but that is really long game type stuff.

Not a bad idea given the risk associated with young KPP's. Any good prospects in the WAFL, SANFL, VFL?

Will have to cut at least six players after this year, Grover will retire, who is going to be dropped, traded?
I would at a guess say more than likely mids/flanker types.Walters, JVB, Chricton, Mcphee, Crowley, Roberts, Griffen.
Some tough decions to be made on players.

The only ones I can see going would be Grover (retiring), Roberts (always injured) and Crichton.

Crowley seems to be more highly rated by everyone except BF posters.
Walters has been given a second chance so unless he goes backwards I can't see him being cut.
JVB is a depth player (every club needs them)
- Griffen likewise, unless a fantastic trade can be found.
McPhee seems to be nearly untouchable.

I agree on the first three, plus Griffen, McPhee & Crowley. Not so sure on JVB and Walters though.

JVB is depth, but last years draftees will soon fill that spot so if you don't crack the best 22 in 3-4 years as a mid, you'll be gone.

Walters is on a one year deal so needs to do a lot more than not go backwards. He's so far behind he needs to go a fair way to just being back to where he was last year. If he doesn't get in the best 22 by the end of the normal season, he'll be cut.

I'd also add Faulks to the list. Not sure on his contract though.

I'm hoping the Moeuller / GWS situation leaves us with enough currency to get a good KPF in this years draft.

I never like the idea of drafting a kid just because they are tall. Particularly with early picks. Far better off taking the best available player in the draft and using trades to fill specific needs.

trading for specific needs is okay ,but when it's a gun KPF it never or rarely happens. We just need some tall talent on our list who can take a good strong grab, and develop them.
