I didn't see you making big calls in this thread for me to attack.

I was wrong. Federer is notoriously bad in opening matches and played at about 30%, Canas was experienced enough to take his opportunity, unlike Srichapan, Rochus last year. Well done Canas :thumbsu:

Hewitt is in big trouble here.

Could lose Federer, Safin, Robredo and Hewitt all on the same day

People still think Hewitt can still win tournaments.

Reality is he struggles to string more than 1 win in a row.

Sorry didn't he just win in Vegas?

He played pathetic today, the break in the first game of the match hurt him in the first and he didn't deserve the win.

All credit to Tipsarevic, Really stood up in the last set and deserved the win.

I believe he will finish 2007 around 10-13 especially with what he has to defend in the upcoming months. If his body can hold up and he can get back to playing as many tournaments as he has in the past I would say its 50/50 that he is back in the top 10 come 2007.

I honestly believe he will make it back there even if its at the start of 2008.

Fed has 41 consecutive wins (12-0 in 2007) and has something to achieve each round:

1: bye
2: 42 wins - Canas/Hajek (equal 3rd with John McEnroe)
3: 43 wins - Moya/Stepanek (outright 3rd)
4: 44 wins - Hewitt/Ferrer (equal 2nd with Ivan Lendl)
Q: 45 wins - Blake/Djokovic (outright 2nd)
S: 46 wins - Davydenko/Safin/Murray/Haas/Gonzalez (equal 1st with Guillermo Vilas)
F: 47 wins - Ljubicic/Roddick/Robredo/Nadal/Nalbandian/Youzhny (will hold the new record outright)

Thanks for jinxing Fed.

I get home to see Federer lost! :D Canas you beauty! He's just returning from a drug ban I recall. He is a class player though as he'll be amongst the top 15 in no time.

Can't believe Hewitt lost though. Just when you think he's gaining a bit of form he loses to Tipsarevic. Tipsarevic is useless, Lleyton destroyed him only a few months ago in Adelaide. Very disappointing. :(

Hewitt is not as good as you think though.

These days guys like Tipsarevic have his measure.

But guys like Safin, Roddick, Blake don't. Hewitt played with a back problem, that's why he lost to a clown. I don't like him, but I give him the credit he deserves.
