Geelong have 3 picks in the 3rd round. You think one of them probably gets it done in a straight swap. Richmond have 2 picks in the 2nd round then nothing until pick 83. Would probably need to get a 3rd round pick from somewhere or trade their later 2nd rounder with a pick coming back their way (late 3rd or early 4th).

Honestly we would trade you your R3 (which we own)for him but not sure why hed trade being a depth player at carlton to depth at geelong he needs to go to a lower ladder club where he will be best 22.

I honestly think we'd take that.

If a club is in the market for a one-dimensional inside midfielder who's only skill is jumping on a loose ball and handing it off to the next in line they are welcome to Dow. Still lacks fitness, isn't a great kick. Can't play any other position.

He's value will go down again next year when he comes out of contract, and we are stacked for inside mids as it is. Pick 30 isn't the worst pick and could get us some upside key position player.

From limited viewing his brother looks like a bit of a spud as well.

We will do the right thing by him but won't give him away for absolutely nothing so he will net us at least a 3rd round pick. I'm sure interested clubs won't have an issue paying that.

We traded Corey Ellis and Anthony Miles to GC for a 3rd round pick upgrade with GC a few years back. Corey Ellis was a former pick 12 not getting a game with very similar numbers to Dow @ AFL level and Miles showed much more than both of them.

No one is giving you a straight 3rd rounder for Dow unless they weren't intending on using it.

Yeah but if dow spends another year or two in the vfl he probably gets delisted. For his sake he needs to go to a weaker midfield so he can play 22 games next year.

Id take him as he is ok and it would allow us to manage selwood and danger more but i dont see why he would want to come here to be depth.

I would like himbat Geelong, and I do think a Round 3 pick is about right. With the likely retirements of Selwood, Smith etc next year as such.

The guy averages 14 possessions, if you get anything below 50 you would run away laughing. More likely, you will get something in the low 50's. Any talk about a 2nd rounder being involved is delusional.

Look at other examples.
Petrevski Seton - Pick 52
Lipinski - 43 - but he had a much more accomplished CV, averaged closer to 20 touches
Cockatoo - In 2020 a future 3rd tied to Melbourne, expected around 50-54

Because if he was any good he'd be in one's consistently. No point keeping a 22yo thats not good enough to be a regular best 22 player when you can move him on for an 18yo that might be better. Plus, no one wants to be stuck in the two's being a back up.

I mean in the off season we also added 2 A-grade mids in Hewett and Cerra, but sure completely skip over that because I'm sure that has absolutely nothing to do with there not being any room for Dow.

What a dumb point. How many of them were aligned to AFL listed clubs? And how many of them ended up being traded the year they won the trophy?
