Assessing them on:
  • Impact-ability – who is more capable of turning games around?
  • Fear-factor – Who was feared more by opposition teams in their prime?
  • Talent – Who’s the more talented overall footballer / better athlete?
  • Flexibility – Who is able to play in different positions?

Patrick Dangerfield prime would be 2016 - 2018, Lachie Neale prime would be 2020 - 2022.

Danger is/was such a monster burst player whose peak was right up there with any modern mid. He could just turn games in moments. But his ball use could be suspect. He has the extra ability to be a total mismatch up forward. Being a bit older he looks to be on the decline. Danger won more AAs but maybe got lucky on getting a couple as a HFF.

Neale is a totally different player. Doesnt have the giant power and burst, but his skills are another level. He is more a hurt you by 1000 cuts. His hands especially in tight are right up there with some of the all time greats. He is about as professional and driven as they come. Still right in his peak. Neale was probably underrated at Freo but good chance to pick up another Brownlow this year.
