Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich hopes to play as a forward for 70 per cent of the time in 2010, banking on the return from injury of several experienced players to allow him to again stalk the attacking 50m arc.

Pavlich, out of contract at the end of 2010, declined to put a timetable on negotiations for a new deal but said he remained committed to Fremantle.

"There is not (a timetable). The club has said it and I am the same," he said. "There is no time frame that we put on it. I am the captain of the club, I have been here for 10 years and I remain steadfast in my commitment.

Love the Pav! It is even better when he is forward kicking bags of goals for us. I cant wait to see him back there with some great assistance from Mayne, Balla, Dessie and the Kepplarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! With the great delivery from the Hills, Suban's and Morabito's we really do have a LOT to look forward to!:D:thumbsu:

FF or CHF next year?

Personally I'd like to see him start from about 30 out and work up and down the forward fifty.

I'd also like to see Keplar ride a goat but we cant always get what we want, hopefully we get what we need, a forward target.

Oh dear! Back to the Pavcentric forward line again, which has worked so well for us in the past. Pav to CHB, McP high forward as a basic setup with the two swapping at random.:(

I think that's what we'll get, with McPharlin/Sandilands/Clarke in the goal square and Johnson/Murphy/Kepler as the lead up CHF.

P.S. - Great username. :)

I look forward to a Hagger's article this week pronouncing 'Pav refuses to commit to Freo'

As opposed to our Pav-less forward line that worked so well this year?

Our forward line will be gun next year.

Someone said we will have a pavcentric forward line but we've got players like Mayne and Ballantyne that should even out the work load of pav and give us some more forwards to kick to

Pavlich-60+ goals

Ballantyne-40+ goals

Mayne-30+ goals

Mcpharlin-15+goals

Headland-15+ goals

Hill-10+goals

Palmer-10+ goals

Morabito-10+ goals

Well that sounds good to me.

almost good enough to make finals...............;)

Yea but the thing about the article that jumps out at me is;

My actions will speak louder than words with regard to the contract."

Could mean a big contract to go along with Sandi's :D

I just about spilt my black coffee all over my favourite Jackie Howe singlet when I read that article. Both Pav and 211, our two greatest players, in a flimsy Shirley Strachan-killer, TOGETHER???!!!

WTF???!!! And how did they fit Sandi in FFS? Wouldn't have thought they could seat him in anything less than a Sikorsky military chopper, and no way could they land one of those suckers on a gas platform.

Seriously, the club needs to have a good long hard look at themselves!!!

Mora, you've overlooked Murphy -again, in estimating the goal output from the newlook, albeit Pavcentric, forward line. Please add in at least 50 more.

Walters 30+ goals.
Dom ,we are definately on the same page with young Sonny, burned up the track this morning to continue his great pre season so far and was in everything, hard in and under and also slippery when playing outside, kicked a lovely goal and I didnt see him miss with hand or foot, this kid could turn out to be the standout from the last draft ,could be anything:D

I genuinely think Pav in the forward line for 70% of the season will equate to 70+ goals from the champ. That other 30% should only be a nominal figure, stop measure if an opposition gets hold of our young midfield.

Not only will this be a positive in terms of a our forward strucuture but it may add some years to Pav's career, I'm also pretty confident Pav will be a one club player. If he was hanging out for a premiership he would have left years ago, snared one with the Crows and got fat.

He hasnt, he's stayed the course, and hopefully our club rewards his loyalty with that elusive premiership, I for one see the foundations of a very strong future. As always it starts from the middle.

Suban
Palmer
Morabito
Ibbotson

I feel finally we may be seeing the cattle we need in the middle to make the most of Pav's talent.

Looking forward to the next few years.

You might be forgetting someone. A little someone named Stephen? And to a lesser extent DeBoer. I also think Duffield and Ballantyne could also be very valuable in the midfield. And this isn't even mentioning all of the potential from this years draft

So true and how could I forget Stephen!

However, Deboer fills me with great hope in the role of a top flight tagger, anything more would be asking too much.

I also think Duffield should be kept on a HBF, great footskills, where he can sit on an average HF and give the leg rope treatment. Wont work in the middle.

Ballantyne is a forward, wont be anything else.

i would like Hutchings...Is like DeBoer i reckon...smart, good hands, good in traffic...

hmm, I'd say more for Headland. And I'd also say Suban will get a similar amount to Hill.
And just the couple for McPharlin. I expect him to be plaing back.

good stuff though

Every one is forgetting Mundy. Was our third highest goal kicker this year (albeit 15 goals), and I would expect his output to increase as he spends more time forward of centre next year.
