...was his 50th for the year. 29 of those have come since the break. No coincidence that we have won 4 of 5 (and almost pinched the 5th) during that time. Bloody great effort from the Big Fella.

Richo was also injured today but both he and Pavlich should be right to play Saturday night. Simmonds had the opportunity with Richo out to lead the tigers to victory and Snake really struggled. That 5 year deal wasn't such a good idea after all according to most on the richmond bigfooty board.

Pav owes the tigers since he was poor last time we played them and Robert Walls took to him with a chainsaw when it wasn't warranted. Look out Ray Hall!

To distract whats the go with tuesday nights at the club? do you have to be a member or can anyone rock up?

Anyone can go. Starts at around 4pm. Crowds will be building now. I remember at the beginning of 2003 when we started taking the rugrats down, there was usually only about 200 people there - if that. The kids could jump the fence at the end of training and run up to their favourite players and there was no hassle getting a spot on the fence for autographs and such. All the players would move across the whole spectator group along the fence and the kids could have a chat with pretty much every player every week.

Now there's a few thousand there, they have a "host" introducing a different staff memeber each week who tells what their role in the club is, 92.9 broadcasts their afternoon show there sometimes - or at least they have a crew there making a crap-load of noise, sponsors are often there flogging their stuff (like Reebok), different areas are roped off so the kids can't get too close at certain times, each player only signs autographs in certain areas (say along 10-15m of the fence line) - and good luck getting a spot on the fence, especially for the smaller kids like mine. A couple of weeks back I had my 6 year old sitting on the fence with her legs dangling over and leaning back on me - and I got told to bring her back over on the other side of the fence. That has never happened before and the poor thing could hardly see anything.

Anyway - it's certainly a big event, and I guess with those crowds now they need to be more organised to manage the numbers. I won't be hurrying down with the kids quite so often now; too much hassle trying to keep an eye on them. Aaah, but I remember how it used to be...

Funnily enough its my girlfriend that wants to go.. and to think when I started dating her 5 years ago she was an Eagles supporter!

She wants to go support the team.. plus she works in freo so she always see's it on the way home!

I hope his injury comes up fine for this weekend, as we need him fit and firing for the surge toward September to continue. We have shown we struggle with injuries to key players - esp KPPs - and Pav is our most important and most influential of all. There - that was my intention. I should have never been so specific as to mention his bottom...

When interviewed yesterday he said he was embarrassed to have limped off the field with an ice pack on his bum/hip, and he'll be good to go on Saturday night. From memory he was crook the last time the 2 sides met was he not?

Pav has been fined substancially by the player group for being seen leaving the ground with an ice pack wedged up the back of his shorts.

His sponsorship by a spa company will come in very handy this week.

On a side note, whilst watching the Adelaide v Sydney game, they put up Ken McGregors goal kicking stats and it said that he had kicked something like 53 career goals. Pav has 150+ and 50 for the year.

McGregor was taken by Adelaide instead of Pav, a year prior to Freo drafting Pav.

I think we can now officially put Pav in as our crowning draftee and thus cancels out the McLeod blunder. The Adelaide ledger is balanced.

He's declared himself fit for the game against Richmond. I think he's got a point to prove too, as the last time they met he had his worse game this season by far.
