Peter Somerville Vs Mark Porter Vs Josh Fraser

Three average ruckman I've never really rated. If I had to pick one it would probably be Fraser.

Interested in what some you guys think about these three.....

If you're picking before they start their careers I'd go Fraser. He could have been so much better but the club destroyed his body by playing him as a lone ruckman way too early in his career.

By his standards he was below average with his form last season. The one dimensional comment tells me you don't watch him play much.

Doesnt contest the high ball well. Doesnt push back in defence and take marks.

Your right I haven't seen the 93 GF but just looking at the stats purely, Madden had the better day of the two.

When I think of the 90's.....Salmon, Barnes and Alessio were way ahead of him imo.

While his career ended in a wimper and was not what I hoped for Fraser is well haead of the other 2. Somerville and Porter were 2nd choice ruckmen in the clubs they played for, journeymen at best.

Fraser started his career strongly and was a player similar to Kreuzer in 1st 4-5 seasons (Fraser was actually better). Never the same after playing in last SOO game for Vic and hurting his PCL. He was cut down by injuries and being asked to carry Collingwoods rucks too soon. Somerville and Porter were never in that class

When I think of the 90's.....Salmon, Barnes and Alessio were way ahead of him imo.

Salmon easily, Barnes only when he left Ess the first time, Alessio, no way.
