^As has already been shown, they're absolutely livid about this.

Part of that is spin. If a club comes out and says oh well, no huge loss it will impact on the compensation.

Bock's worth was similar to that of Tarrant last year but stamped their feet and had a whinge and Bock got them an end of first round pick while we ended up with pick 50-odd for Taz.

If Phil Davis is the first brick in the foundation of GWS I hope they have some better bricks around him. Otherwise that wall is gonna crash down over and over again. I would only rate him ahead of Josh Fraser out of the 8 Gold Coast stole.

yep, considering nathan van berlo is only 23 or 24, i highly doubt davis would ever be in captaincy calculations, and while he is a good prospect the fact they said he is further developed than when he was picked up at 10, and is worth more than pick 10 is ridiculous given that he has spent the majority of his career with busted shoulders and has only played 18 games.... band 3 pick at best, same as palmer if he goes down that route

depends on which rumour you listen to, langdon reckons palmer wants to sign a deal and its the club which is putting it off, he may want to stay but we see him as currency to trade off

That's a possibility too and is more likely than him being at the club next year IMO.

I don't think he has much currency though, pick 20-something in a weak draft is the best we could hope for.

nah he is worth more than krakour... and personally i think more than campbell brown as well given that he will be finished in a year or two

It's more to do with the fact that his season is over due to injury and the Crow's have no chance of playing finals so letting the cat out of the bag now makes planning easier for all parties.

Does this news mean Taylor Walker is back in favour at the Crows, or is he likely to be on the market?

Strange convo on the main board, although it's been touted his contract is for $800,000. People are speculating whether it's that much per year or whether it's spread over 3 years. You'd think that if they were a realistic chance of a tier 1 or 2 compo pick it'd be per year.

No way is it $800,000 over 3 years Davis would have got atleast that by staying at the Crows but he's also said that it's less than $800,000 a season.

The Sydney Daily Telegraph are reporting $3M over 5 years. Front ended it could end up being close to the $800,000 mark in 2012.

If I'm not mistaken, I thought he was only out of favor with Craigy but obviously circumstances have changed now (not to mention he won the game for them last round!).

I'd be very, very surprised if he left now.

I was thinking he'd look good in a Chevron

I think the Davis signing goes to show that none of those media muppets have a clue what is going on. They are paid to make comments remember, and so put 2 and 2 together to get 5. They were all over the Taylor Walker rumour and it got repeated ad nauseum - they were all wrong, not one person mentioned Davis.

This gives me some level of confidence we can retain Rhys, I want to see him carry on and succeed with Freo (inside midfield sus disposal type, eg Brad Sewell, Matty Boyd) .

I don't think that's going to happen whilst Harvey is in charge and/or until Palmer has a bit of an attitude adjustment.
