"Had injuries early in the national championships but came back in late and played well at centre half back. He has a good pair of hnds and is a nice athlete. He is a good developing player who is still growing so could be in the mix due to the lack of genuine tall defenders going around."

DRAFT RANGE: 3rd/4th round

If he ends up being half as good as Fletcher he'll be an asset to the team.

When I first read his name I was like 'who?' had never heard of him. But if we've been watching him for 3 years then obviously he has some skill.

According to Velocity Sports he's 196cm, but I don't trust them

They also mention this:

5th in Beep Test at Draft Combine 14-4
8th in 3km Time Trial at Draft Combine 10:19

Sounds like he's already very fit which is a good thing Though I guess being skinny as a rake helps.

He looked like an absolute bully in that video. Throwing guys around without any regard for them. Looked strong and sure of himself. I like him already.

Obviously he needs to build his body but I did like the muscles in his arms. They are already defined. The way he threw his opponents also suggests he is already strong. I liked his preparedness to play on and run around and for a tall guy he looked like he had some speed as well. I think there is a lot to work with and will be interesting to watch him develop

Thinking back over the last couple of months, Sando has said more than once we are going to get a KPD in the draft.

Been keeping an eye on him since 15.
Sounds like we got our man.

Seen him a lot. He's from my local club. Picked him 2-3 years ago to be drafted. Very good thinker with the ball. Always gives to the best option.
I could tell 3 years ago that he just had "it" to play AFL!

Could have also meant the 9th KPD they had ranked on their list. There is simply no way he was ever close to a 1st round prospect, let alone a top 10 pick.

Pre-draft, he was listed on SEN as the fifth best key defender available - but the second best 193cm+.

The list and having him 9th best was probably our own internal list of player types we wanted and could realistically get.

Doubt many players that went top 10 would be on Ogilvie's list.
