POLICE are probing a Richmond star over a topless photo scandal showing a young woman wearing his AFL Premiership medal.

The woman has claimed she is a victim of revenge pr0n after the images of her topless were widely circulated online and through text messages without her permission or knowledge.

Tiger time: How Richmond won the 2017 Premiership

The Herald Sun can confirm the AFL Integrity Unit is investigating the leaked photo and has been dealing with the woman for several days.

It can be revealed while the female consented to the photo being taken, the Richmond player told her it had been deleted from his phone.

But instead, he kept the picture and sent it out to his friendship circle.

The story was broken exclusively onheraldsun.com.au at 7.15pm.

A Richmond premiership medal draped around a topless woman’s neck, which will be investigated by police, and another nude woman outside Tigers HQ, which police are not looking into.
Victoria Police said in a statement: “Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an image distributed on social media. The imagewas posted without consent. As the investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

The person who sent the images could be charged under “sexting” laws where adults who send the intimate images without the consent of the other person face charges.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison.

The photo emerged last week and was taken after Richmond’s triumphant Grand Final win over Adelaide sparking wild celebrations across the city.

The bare-breasted woman has also engaged lawyers to represent her during the process.

Was a matter of time. Maybe the police just want to check her out hence the investigation lol. See how it goes I guess. Sure the club will deal with it in a good way.

What is menacing, harassing or offensive use of the internet or a mobile?
It is a crime to use your mobile phone or the internet in an offensive way or to harass somebody. Something could be offensive or harassing if it makes a person feel disgusted, humiliated or threatened. When sexting is used to threaten or bother someone, it is against the law. The maximum penalty is 3 years in jail.

Yeh very serious. Just has to play out.

Let's just wait until we hear both sides of the Story. We should have learned heaps with the Martin saga. For all we know she was all for it and it was a trap from the beginning.

"Yeah sure you can post it. What do I care you can't see my face anyway"

Were there any chopsticks involved?

If that's code, no it's not him.

I suggest at this stage we stay away from victim blaming. I don't know the woman but if she's talking to police and not selling her story it's not something we should start putting any blame on her for. He took the photo and he's sent it on to his mates. They're the facts we know and that's disappointing.

I have seen the photo and from a testosterone fuelled point of view on the night of winning the Premiership and the quality of the assets in the photo I can see why he was so keen to brag but just not smart to forward on.

Not saying that's 100% the case I'm just saying let's remember what happened to Martin. People were so quick to hang him out to dry.

On a side note is the penalty less severe because there is no head in the photo. I mean at the end of the day the girl does need to prove that, that indeed is her in the photo.

Good first two sentences - spoiled the post with the rest.

Very few actually get in real trouble with police it’s more a law that’s just there.

Imagine being on the jury when she's asked to prove her identity. :fire:

This one involves sharing a nude image. If it is confirmed that the player is the one to share it, then this case is different to the Martin saga, where it only involved allegations and not tangible evidence like this one.

However, I am still willing to give the player the benefit of the doubt as of right now. The investigation is fresh and there could be many things that occurred that may absolve the player of blame.

Couple things. I dont understand why it's taken a week for it to come out. When peggy was questioned over it on the abc she heard about it and they'd do everything in their power to sort it out. Also at the time police hadn't been brought into it now it's all blown up. We might all have a guess of who it is but until it's out i don't think we should name anyone.

I don’t really think it was broad tbh. He didn’t have a girlfriend last year as seen by him going to the jack Dyer medal alone. Have followed him on social media and he has been clearly single for ages. Would you really send revenge pr0n for a 1+ year breakup
