Don't know how much truth there is to it given its such early days, but apparently the cops were shot execution style after being wounded. Disgusting.

Apparently the offenders are still not apprehended.

What the * has gone on here? All they're saying is that it was in relation to a missing person from NSW and NSW Police requested the attend

RIP to those two poor officers. One male, one female apparently

Is there any bikie, drug dealer etc missing in NSW at the moment that anyone is aware of?

No words for how cowardly and utterly evil that is.

Google Earth can't even find Waynes Road in Wieabila, (it's Wains Road, Wieambilla) so I'm thinking it might be far north Queensland. The police might have to chopper tacticals and snipers in.

Wieambilla, it's about 4hrs west of Brisbane

The property was unoccupied until a week ago apparently, communications dead spot and the 2 reported gun men were already wearing camo. If it wasn't all planned out it certainly at least sounds like they were expecting a visit from police at some point soon.

Glad it's over but what a horrible situation with three innocent people, a neighbour and two young cops just trying to do their jobs dead.

Three killed in police firefight after two cops, neighbour shot dead in execution-style ambush

Special Operations police have shot dead three people in a firefight following the “extraordinarily distressing” deaths of two police officers and a neighbour in the western Darling Downs.

Read Special Operations Police in the story (as posted above by Kurve), and abbreviated it to SOP.

Obviously by the responses there is no such thing (or a different variant) so I do apologise.

It's a bit disappointing the Courier Mail has put that article behind a paywall in such an upsetting situation and when a lot of people are probably still up up waiting for news.

According to Queensland Police Service, 2 males and a female shot dead by Police @ 10:30pm.

Interesting QPS sent 4 police to the initial investigation. NSW Police must have advised something was up for that many police to check on a missing person?

"
A siege situation ensued at the property and specialist police officers and PolAir responded.

Two males and a female were fatally shot during a confrontation with police shortly after 10.30pm."
