One bad apple ruins the whole bunch the culture and acceptance for piss weak efforts and turning this club into a mediocre mates club falls on Koch not having the balls to make changes that have been needed for years be it AFL or SANFL the player development is pathetic and not up to standard hartlett isn't a coach everyone can see that and neither is hinkley but we have to sit back and watch what we once loved and have so much passion for turn into a joke no doubt the greats that layed the foundations for this once ruthless club would be rolling in their graves and nothing will change until their is change and by that from top to bottom and any player that wants out can f*#k off also you don't have to have a list of stars to be great or successful you have to have a list that gives 100% every game, every minute, every match and coaches shouldn't be father figures they should be someone that a player hates but respects and plays for as their coach gets the best out of them and pushes them to their potential

The state of the Maggie's is a clear indicator of the rot that has set in at the club. So many beltings and an absolute piss poor foundation. I know they're essentially a development squad for the AFL team these days but winning culture is winning culture. A culture of mediocrity has gone right through the club. Like a rotting tooth, there might be long periods without pain, but it's only a matter of time. You only have to look at the coaching structure and it's a most uninspiring cast. I'd take blokes that can install some accountability in some of these roles than a strategic gurus at this point. I'm talking at the lower levels.

Something has to be done there is no good talking this club is way past that. Somebody somewhere take a stand.
Tredrea has lost the voice he had now that he is under koch,s wing. He would have done more for port by rallying support from outside the establishment.

Somebody just posted this on the club FB page under last night’s result, I assume it’s from about 2013 given some of the references and give Steve ended up as our first marquee contracted player and captain, obviously he came around to the idea and there was a level of compromise found.

I don’t disagree. Just never seen it before and was surprised to see it circulating this morning. He was a great servant and captain post-2013 so I assume he changed his stance on the issue.

What was left in the sanfl was a ghost. Port outgrew the sanfl. It is sad that kids born in the area can no longer play for Port at the sanfl level, but the decision was made.

I'm not invested in the side but I do hate to see how shabbily a team that wears the storied jumper every week is treated by its club overlords and the sanfl.

I have a Norwood supporting mate who doesn't even care when they beat us, he says it's not the same any more.

I’m stupidly still invested in the team and weirdly, probably get more annoyed when they lose (badly) than a Power loss as I hate seeing what once was trashed. But like you said, decision was made and it’s well and truly time to move on.

It is deadset embarrassing and the fact that the magpies have been so poor for so long really only emphasises the poor leadership within the club and the poor development to lack of which comes back to the coaching. Something needs to change and I hope that WGT and George will enable this change.

Seriously though, how has this loser got the plum job of coaching an AFL-affiliated state league club? He has done nothing to justify the appointment, and I have no respect for him whatsoever. Honestly, he should be sacked because this can’t go on. Loser.

I don't see what was wrong with Goldy? Made finals in his year as coach despite averaging probably 9 to 10 top ups a game.

He spoke highly of his players and his players clearly played for him.

I’m talking about sanfl fans outrage of afl clubs doing well. They only want us to suck.

No offence man, but no they don't. I'm not trying to be an ass, but there's plenty of SANFL fans who despise the crows at SANFL level despite going for em at AFL level. The stereotype of all SANFL supporters who don't go for Port go for the crows is laughable.

I know a shit ton of Centrals supporters who barrack for Port, I know westies supporters who barrack for essendon, Bays supporters who barrack for Richmond (my dad was a Bays supporter who barracked for Fitzroy, my brother Bays supporter who barracks for Sydney) I know sturt supporters who barrack for Carlton.

Then I know SANFL fans who only follow SANFL.

This was is 2013, but I can promise it's STILL Summos opinion.

I mean think of it, since he retired have you seen Summo at games or the club? I haven't.

Have you seen him be interviewed for the website? Nope.

Oh and here's another, my cousin works with Summo, when the magpies made the GF in 2019, Summo didn't even go! Nor was he invited by the club to go, or talk to the players pre match or ANYTHING!

1997 to 2013 certainly wasn't a ghost, what it is now is a ghost. Crowd sizes since summo retied have plummeted and yes SANFL crowds in general have, but ours are a joke, we get out numbered by oppo supporters at Alberton now.

I remember going to Westies, South, Centrals and Woody oval an easily out number their supporters and at Alberton, we clearly dominates the crowd.

I don't care what people say, the ghost is now.

It can be his opinion until the end of time, but anyone that can't understand the port adelaide football club (there's only one) that played in the sanfl then entered the afl, is a dummy.
