BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I have a question. Why does Daniher throw his hands up in a I am the GOAT after a goal (even a good one) as though he is the messiah that has just won them the game, even though he hasn't?

The AFL have blatantly and pathetically cashed in on ANZAC Day. Remembrance of fallen soldiers should be separated from footy. The AFL has made its bed...
I saw a suggestion somewhere on social media that the ANZAC medal be awarded to the most injured player on the losing side which I found amusing.

Because he clearly just loves the fact that he's playing footy. I love watching the big dope play for that very reason.

Was the booing of Goodes after the pointing out the Collingwood girl, or the next year when he done the spear chucking dance toward the Carlton fans at the SCG? I can't remember exactly.

There was no need for such an aggressive celebration as Sydney walked over Carlton at home. It was in my eyes an act of deliberate antagonism and one couldn't help but think it was an attempt to incite a reaction. A reaction is what happened. Doesn't mean it's right but when you let the genie out the bottle those things can happen.

Where do you stand on The Haka?

I feel like we've lost our fair share of important games with questionable umpiring calls.

I was at the 2 most famous ones 2014 Prelim (Stevic calling Jonas holding the ball), 2017 elimination (polec high tackle oin shuey). A bit more on the line in these game than a round 6 clash. I can't recall our supporters standing around after the game booing like a bunch of twats.

There is something endearing about him. He's like a Pixar giraffe.

I would happily have him at Port.

I am wondering where Mathew Lloyd is this week. Last week he had a shot at Ben Brown for playing for free kicks. There were a number of times yesterday where Daniher looked like he had been shot.

To suggest booing during an Anzac presentation is a good show of footy tribalism is one of the more odd majority views i've ever seen on this board.

Who said it was a ‘good show’? It’s an understandable reaction after such a contentious series of events during a massive game that was decided by less than a kick.

The subsequent wringing of hands is incredible.

Robbie Gray has not been playing well all year so far. Is he injured or is it something else. His form and touch have been way below his standard.

Anyone have an idea ?

The ‘and it’s ANZAC DAY!111’ caveat is incredible too.

The pre-game ceremony was immaculately observed. Once the anthem finishes and the siren goes it’s any other game.

Send Wheatley to a NFL game in Philly in Giants gear, Ibrox in a Celtic kit or the Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti in a Carlos Tevez shirt.

Or do what I did. Walk down Copacabana beach in a Corinthians shirt.

:relaxed:

I'm amazed that approx. 80,000 people can stand silently during the minute of silence. That is more remarkable that some dickhead doesn't spoil that. But they don't focus on that.

Saint Bob Murphy noted that and then couldn’t believe the events of the post-match.

These guys have become so bubblefied it’s mental.

He is doing a fair bit off the ball to contribute

I particularly like the faux outrage from ex-players who were cheating animals on and off the field. It is always extra meaningful to be lectured on appropriate behaviour by them.

I’m sure no-one sledged Baguley about his chin yesterday, because ‘mateship’ and ‘two-up’.

You do not see those things on the TV as compared to live.

He still looks out of touch though, timing off, etc. Some would say he is out of form im just wondering is he injured (appart from his shoulder knock)

Nah, just don't boo during the medal presentation. It's not that hard.

Funny how several here are outraged at the cheering of Gaff by Eagles fans yet condone the booing of Pendlebury by Bombers fans. I see no consistency in that point of view.

I’m from Europe and have literally just returned from the US last week.

You must be hanging out with some right wing nut jobs.

The overwhelming view of Australia overseas regarding race is Howard’s boat people policy and aborigines.

The only people who think Australia is PC in anyway are the gun nuts, from your last post it seems that you are talking about YOUR perception of Australia after visiting other countries.

I'm surprised people in the US knew where Australia was.

Yep. ANZAC Day from this point on has always been about the piss up, boorishness and in some cases violence. We have elevated and commercialised it into something it's not and has never been. Im not talking about the game, Im talking about ANZAC Day itself.
