At least when we hit rock bottom in 2011-12, our guys didn't want to leave in droves - starting with Jacko at end of 2011 grilling the club about the future to get some assurances, then him and Bobby setting up that pre - preseason training camp in Narrabeen I think, in Northern Sydney, with an ex NSW copper and ex SAS guy, to help get about 8 of them fit. Then Boak in 2012 re-signing when he could have walked out to go back home to Geelong.

Our problem was our good young players couldn't get on the park often enough and develop because they would get injured and the rehab facilities and people didn't have the resources to fix them up and get them back quickly.

Crows can't complain its lack of resources. It's lack of culture.

Surely if the AFL are forcing the culling of lists they are going to have to allow contract payouts outside of the salary cap.

This could work out really well for the Crows. Though who pays will be interesting!

I can see Atkins being picked up by a team like the Western Bulldogs. And in doing so, infuriating the supporters every time he gets selected in the same way that Sutcliffe infuriates Port Adelaide supporters.
