I’ll tell you why everyone is completely inebriated off their face at the footy and punching each other’s heads in. Because they go out and get absolutely plastered beforehand knowing that it’s gonna cost $17 for a cup of mid strength beer when they get there.

I find it weird people get 'plastered' at a game of footy to begin with.

Look I get that by his demeanour and presentation that he has built up a reputation through the ABC but he's way off the mark with the general fanbase on most topics. It's just that he presents them so softly that most times people don't get too upset with what he's saying without realising what he is actually advocating for. Imagine the game if he had his finger prints all over it, I don't like Sheehan much either, another one that's terrible. I find Whateley closest to Tim Lane and he was abysmal and exposed once he moved away from the safety of his ABC gig.
Someone in the media will always be the #1 influencer because of a combo of position they hold and past efforts.

Trouble I have with Gerard, is that sometimes, he is too religious in his belief about the value of sports and its righteousness in society. Don't agree with all his stuff but he is way better than the overwhelming majority.

There is absolutely no way Gerard would ever believe or conceive that Black Caviar has been doped up, despite Peter Moody getting done for doping his horses after she retired. He has a bit too much blind faith on some issues and gets too righteous on others.

Probably true. He did turn it into something of a personal crusade though. His loyalty to Chris Scott is pretty obvious at times.
The Menegola incident wasn't even discussed on 360.

Still laughing at that Pyke stare. Pyke's new meme status will see him swiftly replaced. At this rate, I'll be surprised if he's still coaching them in 2019.

That stare is just one step away from being bitchy to them. I'm sure he's picked that up from his wife.

MacKay isn’t that bad. He kind of does consistently well what we’re trying to get Karl Amon to do consistently well for us.
He's consistent - consistently vanilla. Basically only a very slight increase in consistency separates him from Amon, but Amon can also kick goals. Getting 18 touches and 2.5 tackles a game playing large TOG on the wing just isn't good enough for a senior player.

Get them in: Michael Hurley is expected to return this week after missing the past two games with a minor hamstring injury. Darcy Parish has been excellent in the VFL since being dropped two weeks ago, while Aaron Francis is building his form at that level too.
Staff writers May 29, 2018 3:38PM

ESSENDON youngster Darcy Parish will be out for up to two months after breaking his thumb in the VFL on the weekend.
Callum Twomey May 29, 2018 3:25PM

These two stories from the afl website. Callum Twomey reported he was out and then 13 minutes later the staff writers reported he would be in the mix for selection. This could happen in the newspaper days with deadlines but surely now all stories go on computer and the information is updated immediately?
