Mitch Brown? So that must be either:
-the nondescript West Coast key forward and/or key back who has been around forever and/or may or may not have been delisted already
-the nondescript Geelong key forward and/or key back who has been around forever and/or may or may not have been delisted already*
-other forgettable Mitch Browns

*give me a break, it wasn't until last year I learnt they were different people

No, my son is also named Mitch Brown.

The SANFL getting upset about losing players highlights exactly what is wrong with the SANFL.

The clubs of the SANFL actually believe they are as important as the AFL clubs.

The SANFL is a feeder comp and if the need is there for players to play at the higher level for any reason, the SANFL like any FEEDER comp, must be ready to provide those players.

The whole mindset of the SANFL needs to change before long term progress is made for footy in this state. The AFL and our 2 AFL clubs in this state are the priority for the state as they feed the rest of the chain, not the SANFL.

It also highlights the massive conflict of interest in the SANFL owning both AFL licenses for all those years, that they see themselves as a natural competitor of the AFL's rather than a body to coexist with the AFL and help nurture the game as a whole.

This is posted in the Drugs thread but worth posting again

Quote from Greg Edwards “It’s an absolute farce that you can take players out of a competition like ours, it’s just degrading our competition, it’s just despicable.” #feedercomp

Megsy, Megsy, Megsy. Whatever happened to the philosophy you used to have about players achieving the best they can. Really disappointed with a comment like that from a bloke I know.

i say it's #karma for stealing money of the AFL clubs... please EFC, raid them, and raid them hard. Especially Norwood & Glenelg :)

I'm not even half sure bro, so I'd better not say.
Sound like my father, he grew up around the Latrobe Valley and his
immediate family still live there and suggested I may be related to Cambell Heath somehow but won't elaborate further than that, taking it too his grave.

I love this. First Essendon gave us Ryder and now this. Viva la Essendon. **** the SANFL.

The SANFL will take out a Supreme Court injunction and enter a combined side to represent Essendon in the NAB Challenge

Ah, but it's because the SANFL is the second best comp in Australia that Essendon has come running to them!
Not sure if sarcastic? But if not.... Not really. Even after all the money we've pumped into the comp there is no clear evidence that the SANFL is stronger than The VFL and when you look at what our 2nd side did this year in a side with average depth compared to sides like the Hawks then it is hard to imagine that some of those VFL clubs wouldn't have been premiership favorites in the SANFL.

The reality is that a bunch of the players that just got dropped this year and we're on the edges of selection just happened to be from here. Nothing to do with the comp quality and everything to do with where those players happened to be. If all last year's delistees were from QLD and went back to the NEAFL it wouldn't have stopped them being approached.
