Credit to a large portion of Adelaide FC posters recently but you're spot on. No points for guessing who's already spewing the most bile. The burning must come from the ulcer he gives himself hating on Port.

Without making me go over there and reading it, is it alex? And is he pissed off that we're "hijacking" this from the crows? I have not been over there so I'm just guessing, but I'll bet I guessed right.

We're impacting on their marketing opportunities.

Edit: and yes, it's Alex.

I am confident it is just a poor choice of words. Correct my if I'm wrong but isn't it the marketing dept. that organises tributes such as last night?
Honestly believe it was a congratulations at them for the work they did as opposed to any dig suggesting the tribute was in any way a marketing stunt. I think the benefit of the doubt should be given at such a difficult time.

I tend to agree. I can understand the initial annoyance at his poor choice of words, and Roo is definitely known for his sly digs, but I don't think this is one of them.

I've only ever before wanted the crows to win if in some way it would benefit us but this is the first time that I genuinely want them to perform well for them and their supporters, Carn the crows.

I have no issue at all with what Roo wrote.

He is a businessman and he wrote it like a businessman. I can almost forgive him for it, but these were pretty different circumstances and the tribute was most certainly not a marketing opportunity.

Poor choice of words by Riccutio by I reckon he meant well by it, nothing to see here.

I think he clearly used the word "marketing" in it's AFL club meaning, which is how you present yourself as a club. He'd regularly be talking about these sorts of game day packages as "marketing" as a part of his work for the crows, and the word felt natural to him to describe what we were doing.

I don't believe he meant any malice behind it, definitely not in the way the Crowcrap podcast guy did. Poor choice of words.

Really didn't like the tone of his article either, felt it was insensitive to his family

Ricciuto may have a strong dislike for us as a club but the thing to remember is that the Adelaide football bubble is pretty small, and most of the players, coaches and staff across both clubs would know each other, particularly Ricciuto being in the local football media and all. He'd be on pretty friendly terms with a lot of our players and for that reason I doubt he'd be so deliberately insensitive at this time. He'd know first hand how much some of them are hurting.

The tweet prior to that was "Do it for Walshy Port"..
I just think his choice of words was a bit poor on the "marketing" bit, but he also wrote "aftermath" when he probably meant "aftermatch"..
Will put this one down to being emotional at watching it and move on..

Ricciuto was just looking at us like we're a franchise because that's what he understands. their franchise had to think of a marketing strategy in a think-tank to milk their coaches death (I can't believe I'm typing this) featuring that somber radio ad and those cringy high shots of the flowers outside AAMI which just felt like some dirty dirty people were so pleased with how good it'd look on TV. yep the feel-good stuff between us only lasted a week. we put on a successful tribute, they pulled off a successful marketing plan... don't paint us with your brush you bogan!!! it feels extremely wrong to argue about this, which just makes Roo an even bigger dropkick to me.

Maybe you would like to re-think your post and edit it or delete all together... I would highly recommend it.

Can we stop to personal digs at MR! He will be finding life as tough as anyone at the moment.

Maybe a bad choice of words. But he legitimately wanted us to win for walshy last night

hence why I couldn't believe I typed that. this is a dog shit franchise we're dealing with. don't shoot the messenger.

If he has any friends at the PAFC, he is very good at hiding his feelings.
