The only positive to come out of that match was that it took us one step closer to raping the draft again.

Oh and Deledio. Looks the goods.

No real mention of Shane Tuck? I thought he played quite well. Admittingly he collected a lot of loose balls in racking up a game-high 25 possessions, but played well around the clearance situations. 8 clearances in all.

Mark Coughlan was also pretty prominent. 23 possessions, 5 marks, 8 hard-ball gets and 6 clearances. Certainly provided that toughness in and under the packs.

Greg Stafford played well up forward early on. Took four contested marks and kicked four goals from seven touches.

Joel Bowden provided plenty of forward drive. 24 possessions, 8 marks and 6 deliveries into the forward 50. Wayne Campbell (15 touches, 6 inside 50) was pretty decent as well.

Brett Deledio was not bad. 13 possessions, 5 inside 50s and second for the Tigers with hard-ball gets.

You guys probably won't appreciate it, but boy can Raphael Clarke play! Geez he was an excitement machine for St Kilda today!

Other than that, not really all that many positives for Richmond. They were dominated around the park. Never could find any lengthy momentum and moved the ball too slowly going forward.

However, a 68-point thumping really didn't reflect the inside 50 count, which may shock you people to know that St Kilda only led it by 2, 51-49.

Bentleigh did.

He gets contested postion too. 10 last week I think.

Very happy with Hyde and Tuck.

He beat Luke Ball.
Richmond best.

Greg Stafford played well up forward early on. Took four contested marks and kicked four goals from seven touches.

yup.

Spot on.

Brett Deledio was not bad. 13 possessions, 5 inside 50s and second for the Tigers with hard-ball gets

Again, looks a player. Have to remember he just turned 18.

Saints are class. Saint Nick and Penny to come into that side = top 4, easy.

In my opinion the biggest positive today, is that we didn't get blown away, like 100+.

I'm wait on our real big positive for this week to come tommorow, when Coburg play. I think u know wot im getting at.
TAMBLING TO STAR.

Richmond actually played well enough to not get beaten by as much as you did, however, wasted the ball too often going forward.

Didn't get as much of the ball in the midfield, but the Tigers won plenty of clearances and went forward enough to suggest the scores should of been a lot closer.

Though, the Tigers were unable to capitalise. If only they moved the ball more fluently through the midfield, instead of constantly going out wide and trying to set up from there, with a forward structure that didn't work today. They failed to move the ball quickly and long up forward anyway.

If it wasn't for the late-quarter fade-outs, it would of only been a five to six-goal loss at tops!

Agree with all that. Coughlan again took the oppositions best midfielder and won out. But the Saints had far too much class overall in the middle.

Apart from the normally reliable Newman, who was towelled by Milne, I thought our backline stood up pretty well in the circumstances. We gave away 22 goals but St Kilda forwards where on the end of some quality delivery. The end result was probably an accurate reflection of the game, but if our forwards had capitalised on their opportunities we could have been at least 4 goals closer, thanks mainly to the hard work of the backline.

Our hardness was fantastic. We were never a realistic chance if the saints were on-they were! But the way we went about it for 4 quarters was encouraging.I'm not dissapointed at all;have felt worse from 6 goal losses. We aren't close to that level yet,but for once I firmly believe there is a yet.
