Thanks for that Adnico26Parker . I had no idea the return date for clubs that don't play finals and for clubs that play in the grand final are 1 week apart despite them finishing 5 weeks apart.

Also I wonder what is meant by the junior players returning for "off-field player development activities"? Why "off-field"?

I think we actually did the best to avoid a possible calendar snafu, with curiously no Chad on the cover or as a featured player.

My footy club had a lunch Friday with Jimmy Bartel and Luke Bruest , both were very friendly and engaging.
Bartel was asked about an extra team coming in and he answered that the northern academies are great for the game going forward , with 55% of the population living North of the Murray . He said they are doing an amazing job. Was good to hear.
