Practice Match Results vs. Hawks.

Well it looks like that my hope that we would win.........has come true.

In Shepparton, we thrashed the Hawks by 61 points!! Although they were undermanned, this is a good results for us which should give us some confidence going into later pre-season games and our Round 1 clash with The Hawks in 3 weeks or so time.

I don't really know the best players, but Or will be happy as Robbo helped himself to 6 goals and Brucey kicked 5. Wheatley and Neita kicked 2, Green, Funcke, Yze and Nicho got 1 each.

Final Score:

Melb - 19.7.121
Hawks - 8.12.60

Daniher played down the win but knows this is a good confidence booster for the boys!

LMAO Mishy..... that was pretty much the exact reaction we had in the cinema! LOL!

More than likely he kicked that 6 on a 17 year old rookie. If he can produce that in Round 1 when he has someone like Joel Smith on him, then I'll be the second to praise him, behind yourself. Until then, it doesn't mean anything.

Stucey, I do look forward to Round 1. Last time we played and we got pumped, I drowned my sorrows in beer. I hope it doesn't happen again!! (the losing part that is!! I will still drown something with beer! )

And what?? he has done very well, he is not a Farmer but so what?? no one is!! He has been a solid contributer over all (although he has been a bit up and down), and he was our leading goal kicker last year so stop complaining already!!!

Well whooped de do! I have seen the likes of Darren Cuthbertson, Allen Jackovich etc. do exactly the same thing, and be dropped from the list, albeit Jacko through injury and later inconsistency. You go by what you have seen since 99 or whatever. I go by my whole life of watching Melbourne. Kicking 40 goals in a season is nothing. Farmer only played half, Neitz was all over the place, Bruce and Green struggled.

Yeah they all struggled but he didn't! In a very poor and inconsistant side, Robbo was one of the only players who kepts most of his form. He got just as many goals in 2001 as he did in 2000!! He is not the most brilliant player ever, but he is a solid contributer and we need some of that in Melbourne.... we have enough of one year Brownlow wonders!

He did so. I can only recall him playing 2-3 good games where he kicked enough goals. Many games he went missing, much like the others admittedly. But, he is the most expendable of them all.

40 goals in 22 is not great at all, less than 2 a game. The Jackovich's, Cuthbertson's and even Darren Bennet's did better than that. And where are they now???
