Well....

For us Geelong fans... its that time of year again.

It sounds a bit arrogant, and it probably is, but when you are as ****ing metronomically consistent a club like we are when it comes to making the Finals, we just get into a routine.

And it really is a remarkable feat in the face of the AFL's attempts to equalise the competition.

Cant get 11 home games where the club wants them.... cant get a true home final at the home ground we play 80 % of home games at...

And even the most toothless, one eyed oppo supporter has to, in a dark moment in their mums basement, tip the hat the Cats ability to stay relevant.

Second on the ladder. No one in the media really giving us much coverage or press running up to this because , well its all been said before, for 15 years... right?!?!

Making it means nothing when it comes to winning it all - but you gotta be in it to win it - and CS has had that mantra all along and he just keeps delivering it.

We have a double chance.
We are fit
We are healthy and most of all.

we are hungry.

We are Geelong.

Lets start talking about the coming week and the real stuff will follow...

Well at least its not Thursday night for Cats fans...

Friday night at the G aint much easier.... of course GMHBA would have been packed but its not about fairness.

Sat arvo would have been perfect....

now we will fumble and double grab the dewy ball and count the number of times we slip over.

I disagree with this, plenty of various pundits are labelling us as The Side To Beat... to the point whereas, naturally, I wish they'd shut up about it ;)

Whatever happened with the bump Stewart did on Richmond player did that get thrown out the door yet?
Apart from Ralph who is a Richmond supporter i don't think anyone mentioned it and we would have found out yesterday if he was in trouble and as far as i can see he didn't given get cited for a fine

Exactly what should've happened with it - absolutely nothing.

The panel after the game tried giving it air. Until King shut them all down.

Hope we bring our A game and practice our goal kicking this week ready for this huge final! Cannot wait. Wish they didn’t have the week off, hate waiting.

If we were waiting on someone to come back it could come in handy, but this year we're fit and it's Brisbane who get an advantage from the week off.

Still don't like the week off myself.

This is the ultimate test for Geelong, Gerard. Who is going to step up, who are they really? What do they bring to the table?

Brisbane suffocate you in the front half, they lock it in better than anyone. But Geelong? They kill you on turnover. The whole game swings on whether Stewart and Henry can absorb that heat, and counter attack the other way.

If Cameron and Neale get clean ball, Brisbane’s system falls apart. For me, it’s simple: do Geelong trust their DNA? Do they trust their torch bearers? Or do they blink?

Because if they blink…Brisbane put five goals on you in five minutes, and it’s over.

It's a monster task Gerard, and most importantly, I'm not sure who plays the Cam Mooney Tom Hawkins role for Geelong.

An easy win for us. A winning run through to the GF. A walloping of whoever we face in the GF (Note: If the neutrals are bored, maybe they should concentrate on the food & festivities)

All season, Baz has been purring smoothly like an F1 car on a formation lap. These finals, expect him to engage ERS (Energy Recovery System).

I expect Neale to come of age during these finals and rule our forward line for the next 10+ years.

I love how Holmes took the disappointment (of missing out in 2022) into his stride (literally) and has powered himself and this Team since then. It'll be for him, for Martin (fulfilling his destiny) and Mannagh (a Premiership is no longer a pipe dream).

A clarion call to all those underachieving superstars.. The Cats have the inside lane to win Premierships..

Edit: I deny all charges of Optimism. My Legal Team will be addressing those charges at the appropriate time.

Just needs a mention of 'leg drive' and its perfect

Cats are currently premiership favourites and yet I'd expect them to go in as underdogs with the bookies Vs the Lions. I guess we'll see when the match odds are released. But if I was backing anyone I'd back Brisbane - their best has proven to be better than most others - and they have a very good record the last few match ups against the Cats.

We're all dreaming of another Cats flag and we're as well placed (or better) as we were in 2022. But while the heart says Geelong, I just get a sneaky feeling Brisbane are the team to beat. Putting all that to the side though, if we beat the Lions week one, I think we'll have one hand on the cup and be hard to beat from there.
