I think we might see some significant changes this year.
We've had very little change to the top 8 recently.

I'm going out on a limb :)

Carlton
Geelong
Hawthorn
West Coast
North Melbourne
Collingwood
Richmond
StKilda

If you're asking in order, here's mine:

1. Hawthorn
2. Geelong
3. West Coast
4. Carlton
5. Collingwood
6. Fremantle
7. St Kilda
8. Essendon

Pretty optimistic with the Tiges there VC...

Mr Marshhhhh, your omission of Collingwood could be seen as being very pessimistic with regards to their fortunes in 2012.

You also seem to overestimate the West Coast Eagles ability as you have them finishing 3rd and 5th.;)

1. Hawthorn
2. Geelong
3. West Coast

My prediction:

1. Geelong
2. Collingwood
3. Carlton
4. West Coast
5. Fremantle
6. North Melbourne
7. Hawthorn
8. Western Bulldogs

Flag could go to anyone out of the top 3, however my crystal ball says Geelong will go back to back in 2012. Also believe it'll be a very even year with little separating the top 6-7 sides. Some other things I'm forecasting:
-We'll have an absolute cracker of a finals series full of classic games, ultimately culminating in another Geelong premiership.
-Dogs will defy all expectations and silence their numerous critics by making the 8 (my roughie to play finals).
-Hawthorn and their supporters will, as usual, be filled with excuses about injuries, umpires, aligning of the planets etc. after they fail to deliver upon massive hype and miss the top 4.
-The history books will be rewritten in Round 10 when Geelong kick 50 goals against GWS, win by over 300 points and keep them goalless for the match in the process.

Please make this happen:thumbsu:

As for my top 8:
1. Geelong
2. Carlolton
3. Hawfs
4. Collingflogs
5. Freo heave ho
6. Wet Toast
7. Shitney
8. Norf

Bobby has us as low as 3rd. I can't believe it. Did we just win the wooden spoon? :p

Collingwood
Hawthorn
Sydney
Carlton
Fremantle
St Kilda
Geelong
NM

WCE
Essendon
Richmond
W Bulldogs
Adelaide
Brisbane
Gold Coast
Melbourne
Port Adelaide
GWS

Geelong will drop due to losing too many early games, playing catch-up all year, and not having the luxury to rest players as per 2011. But this does not count finals.

Could not disagree more on Sydney at number 3.
Really don't know how you come to that conclusion.
did you recognise any of their talent when they beat us? me either, severely under the radar.
Their potential is massive with KF and KB. Good mids. Good rucks.
check out their early draw, could determine their season .
couldnt give a crap if im wrong, dont much like them, just a prediction .

I was trying to work out how to get Sydney in the top 5 and then dropped them out of the 8 altogether. They are a strange club to gauge.

The had us on the day. From memory that was the week where Jarrad McVeigh's little girl had passed away.
That played more of a part than anything for me.

They have a decent midfield, certainly not one I'd rate up there with the best, and A good ruckman.

Their backline is certainly far from proven and their forward line is less reliable than the Tomahawk himself.

I see it as the opposite. In the first 15 rounds there are maybe 4 games that will be a challenge but I'd be surprised if lost more than 2 or 3 before round 16.

1 Geelong (Not bias at all :) )
2 Hawthorn (closest complete team to geelong)
3 Carlton (Dangerouse in the midfield)
4 Collingwood (depth isues will cause slight fall, especially in ruck)
5 St Kilda (should raise form this year for last shot)
6 West Coast (honestly it was luck)
7 Fremantle (should actualy have enough non injured players this season)
8 Melbourn (solved one issue up forward and one back)

Bombers, Dogs & Roos to challenge for the last spot.
Still think that it's out of the top 3 again, Wait needs to be AA for the Blues to be a flag hope for mine.

Geelong (by about 2-3 games)
Carlton (IF their talls stand up. Waite & Kreuzer the keys. Frighteningly strong and deep MF)
Hawthorn (will struggle to beat the teams above them b/c of structural deficiencies in defence and ruck but will smash lower teams because of Buddy)
Collingwood (now they've lost their "Dynasty" mojo, will come back to the pack but still enough talent for top 4)
Fremantle (Ross Lyon will finally harness their talent..but if Sandilands or Pavlich go down could miss the 8)
W/C (Good ordinary team)
Sydney (They just always get there and have some real talented kids)
Essendon (will believe their own BS again just enough to tease themselves into the 8)

Yes we will struggle big time to beat Carlton right? That's why we have beaten them 8 times in a row! :D and what's the structural deficiencies you speak of? What Up forward? Franklin Roughead Hale Gunston Breust Rioli Osborne. That's the most potent forward line in the league! :) What is it our Rucks? We have 6 Ruckmans on our list Bailey Hale Lowden Grimley McCauley and Pattison. No deficiency there! Our Midfield of Hodge Mitchell Sewell Lewis Bugoyne, what is that too slow? Hmm... add Shiels Smith Savage Puopolo for some speed and now problem solved! ;) Our only Concern is our Back line but that's about it. Midfield is equal with Collingwood as the best in the league and our Forward line is no.1
