Blackburn's size is now 139 x 118m.
Love to know where all you guys are getting these figures from.Walker Park the MCG of the East do you mind, google and it says 162x138.Those figures are surely wrong.Small ground big crowd, excellent facilities, plenty of car parking I recommend Walker Park to watch a finals venue to you all.PS Car parking,300 plus spots behind grandstand and entrance there as well.

Google Maps has a measure distance tool which is pretty accurate.

That puts Walker Park at 140x110

That seems more correct then what I got via google.Have been told Mitcham did look at being a host of D1 finals but knocked back because ground to small for finals. Our premier grounds this season,East Ringwood ,Balwyn,Vermont,Blackburn and Mitcham all play on similar size grounds.

Vermont Reserve: Length 145 metres and width 107 metres
Walker Park Mitcham: Length 140 metres and width 106 metres
Morton Park East Blackburn: Length 139 metres and width 118 metres
East Burwood South Reserve: Length 146 metres and width 118 metres

Mitcham is a far more appropriate size than Ringwood or Beaconsfield, which are stupidly big and affect the quality of play

Can anyone tell me why finals are being played at Beaconsfield?

Not in league heartland and casual observers will not attend.

A stupid decision to abandon neutral supporters and play there. Many people who may attend the finals in this division won’t go along.

I would say because it’s the same size as the MCG or so I’ve been told. So the speed and skill level of the game requires a decent size ground. But it’s dumb in terms of location.

I heard Knox Council refused to allow the finals series at Bayswater due to the state of the ground. So they needed a new venue.

I would believe that Baysie only put in for the Granny. The ground is in really poor shape at the moment and needs a while to recover. Really needs to be resurfaced.

Bayswater oval getting redone after the gf.
Cricket sat/sun on the junior oval.
Footy at Lewis park next season

Dunno why were comparing the size of the ground as an issue. As someone who's played on all the grounds (except beaconsfield) thats probably the best way to ask what's the best ground for finals or to play at.
Have never understood how Boronia was given finals in the last 10 years. The ground was always a pile of mud come September.
Bayswater although very big, was always very Soggy and chopped up easily.
Mitcham was always very good although probably too small of a ground.
Ringwood since been re-done is probably the best ground. They should be putting their hand up for premier Finals.
Central Reserve wasn't too bad. If lots of rain it was always heavy underfoot and its also that little bit far away. But for footy finals it would be a decent venue.

1- Ringwood
2- Mitcham
3- Bayswater
4- Glen Waverley

I happened to be out there a couple of times over the last few weeks and Beaconsfield is in finals ready condition.
Great surface, great facilities , plenty of parking and good viewing right around the ground.
It would have to be among the absolute best set ups in the comp, no doubt.

And no, I have no affiliation with them lol.

I know I’d be in the minority on here as I live out that way, but I’m looking forward to seeing a couple of games.

Interesting that many of the grounds out in the Casey/ Cardinia area are quite large by comparison.

Lewis Park, won't be much income from the gate or much in the way of shelter. Or parking!
Will be a very tough year. Not many options though.

Nfi if boronia will be back at tormore next season. Believe asbestos was found in the old building an work was stopped for ages. Not sure if it’s restarted.

Cricket is the issue which is why D3 is their gig. It's about the latest date that footy can be played there so no good for Prem unless the whole footy season came forwards 2 weeks.

Work is progressing at Tormore but due to asbestos removal there were delays. The club hopes to be back at their home ground in 2026 but at this stage it is looking unlikely as there will be no pavilion as works will not be finished at the start of the season. Miller Park worked relatively well this year for Boronia and they will play there again in 2026 if required.

Jubilee Park is being used for a total of 7 days for finals, 5 Div 3 and 2 Premier. But cricket is the issue and reason why they need to finish early, so the ground can be ready for Oct 4th.

If they could knock down their rooms and build a decent facility I reckon Mooroolbark would be a good choice for finals ??
Is the surface ok?
it's fenced off and can hold a good crowd
Parking a problem though ...

Parking there was diabolical for Thursday night training let alone finals games 😂
Maybe if you ran a shuttle bus from the train station it would work!

Yeah definetly . Just putting it out there .
Was at Pinks res on Sunday for nth v boronia . Not a fan . Not much atmosphere .
Dont mind east Ringwood for atmosphere. Knock down the disused social club and put up terracing with undercover then would be ideal
