Geez Hampton Rovers by 10 goals over Mordialloc. Quality opposition there! Mordialloc no better than Div 2 VAFA. Rovers flying - look out.
Even a combined Reserves/3rds Rovers side thrashed Mordialloc as well, by 75 points last Saturday.

With just under 2 weeks to the start of the season, who do we think will be the standout players of the competition this year / who will be the ones to watch from each team ? Keen to generate some talk about players

Perhaps you can do a Top 50 from Premier B (a la the chief writer from the HS). Everyone loves them around the water cooler, don't they?

great idea SCRIBE
If everyone chipped in would be a great discussion to get a top 50 players list done

Um...I may have been a little tongue in cheek before, but if it floats your boat, go for it I say.

Must say I'm far more interested in team results than individual players, but each to their own.

Must say your 'Other teams' gets a bit of a workout Scribe:)

One in each of the top 4 grades - works out beautifully!
Already scored two luncheon invites as guest speaker too (given the Burgers have so many Sunday fixtures)

"Wherever I lay my hat....."

Looking at the fixture, which game in Round 1 would be the match of the day?

All of them mate, it's round one!
How are your beloved Hampton looking Jason?
You going to be on the boundary again?

No Mazenod player after having Kelly and Cowan in the rep squad and made it down to the last 26. Cowan stiff to miss, Kelly did more than enough to impress from what I hear...

Top player from each club

AJAX - Fayman or Ludski
Fitrzoy - Bisetto
Caulfield - Silvestro
Hampton - Fletcher or Turner
SBMT - Kean or D. Garside
Mazenod - Dalton or Cowan
OM's - Paule
St. Kevin's - P. Edgar or B. Dowd
Parkdale - Dillon
Old Brighton - Marsden

My top 20 in Premier B.
1. Steve Salopek St Kevin's AFL
2. Jordan Gysberts St Kevin's AFL
3. Luke Andrews St Kevin's VFL
4. Paul Wintle St Bede's State Captain
5. Tom Paule Old Melburnians BOG State game
6. Jarrod Dalton Mazenod VFL
7. James Tyquin St Bede's
8. Simon Richards St Bede's
9. Anthony Lynch St Kevin's State Captain
10. Josh Freezer Old Melburnians VFL
11. Eugene Routman Ajax
12. Ben Phibbs Mazenod VFL
13. Leigh Fletcher Hampton Multiple Comp B and F winner
14. Daniel Corp Hampton VFL
15. Steve Gilham St Kevin's AFL premiership
16. Patrick Kean St Bede's
17. Nick Marsden Old Brighton
18. David Fayman Ajax
19. Ben Dowd St Kevin's State Captain
20. Dan Garside St Bede's State Rep

Could have had another 20 blokes in the top 20, very good comp Premier B.

Now my ladder, which is a mad guess at best.

St Bede's
St Kevin's
Old Melburnians
Old Brighton

Mazenod
Ajax
Hampton
Fitzroy
Parkdale
Caulfield

Tips for round 1, a guessing game at best.

St Kevin's over St Bede's by a goal. Both sides nowhere near full strength, should be a great game at Brindisi.

Old Brighton over Fitzroy by 3 goals, I know nothing about recruits or losses from either team.

Mazenod over Hampton by 4 goals, welcome back Hampton, Mazenod are on the rise this year. Hampton spruiking back to back to back, let's see how they go......

Caulfield to get the bikkies by 11 points over Parkdale because of home ground advantage. Both very young with Caulfield decimated by losses over the summer.

OM's to defeat Ajax at the junction by 25 points, a very good young team are OM's.

Bob - with 6 of the best 20 players in B grade surely St Bedes will be lucky to get within 20 goals of the SKOBs. Must be absolute locks for the flag also.

Not when you see that St Bede's have at least 5 best in the comp Jimmy. Could have added Shaun Glennen, Tom Tyquin also, a very good team are the Tigers, flag favourites by the length of the Flemington straight.

I'm sure Briza will tell us all that SKOB are way off full strength every week. Guns everywhere unavailable. It's like a broken record. One game last year they were even missing 23 of their best 22.

Rumour is 'bob' has also had it up to pussy's bow (so to 'speak') and that all the commentary from SKOB will be entirely impartial from this day forth.

While on the SKs, believe the school has a trust war chest built up from wealthy donors even Xavier would be envious of.

Any chance you two can actually make some football related predictions or prognostications?

SKOB to go straight sets in finals but be early flag favourites for 2016.
Joking....
Ok, my predictions.
Paule B&F. Best player in B grade.
Perhaps best player In Ammos.
Ladder:
SKOB
OM's
Mazenod
STBM
Fitzroy
Brighton
Rovers
Caulfield
Jackers
Vultures

Richards definitely top 20 in fact probably top 5 but Wintle and Tyqin nowhere near the players they were. Same with Garside – still handy but not the same since the knee op. Robertson and Tim Doherty ahead of all bar Richards and would not have Kean in my best 20. Tom Tyquin not in the elite class just yet and as for Glennen ....please....he battled for a game in the seniors last year. Old Brighton stiff to get relegated from 'A’ grade last year and beat St Bedes twice yet none in your top 20. Surely you could find a place for at least 1 of them amongst the SKOBs players and those from your 2nd team? Hendra, Bruin, Anthony, Jakobi?

No Curly headed OB player this year. Well and truely retired.

Yep Tom Paule>>>>>>>>>>Steve Salopek. Not even a contest
I am yet to see Lynch play a good game. he has been beaten in all 12 plus contests i have seen him. He is obviously a great player from his achievements at St Kevins and Big V but i am yet to see them. Would think there should be a few Fitzroy players in contention too.
On a different note have OM's got their ruck back who went OS halfway through last season? He would make a big difference
SKobs- if injuries are kind- may not lose a game
Then... anyone of around 6. Think Fielders and Vultures may hold up the field, but Jackers may surprise.

The much touted and rated new recruits for SKOBS. Dont know much about them but what you read on this site it sounds like they could nearly get into the Hawthorn AFL team. Are they Old boys or just new to the club? If the latter, why on earth (if they are so good) would
they front up to SKOBS? Whats the attraction?.........Can anyone shed some light?
