So, what you are saying is that he got 7 weeks for a head butt on the basis of a video that was submitted (conveniently) by PEGS which showed it wasn't a head butt??
If the video showed it wasn't a head butt, why didn't Parkdale submit it?
He got 7 weeks because the chairman had an association with PEGS??
I must be missing something here!!

The video shows it was more of a charge. Mitch, yes, chested the bloke and his head made contact with the PEGs players' shoulder/side of neck - not really a head butt.

The reason Parkdale didn't submit a video... well, we weren't videoing the game... remember, there was no report (or free kick) for the incident for the umps to lodge.

Mitch was asked to visit the Tribunal a week and and half after the game for a 'please explain' on a video sent to the VAFA from PEGS.

Leading into finals - perhaps a bit of gamesmanship going on??? I'm still confused!

Interesting to see that Troy and the Cat posted at the same time, then mysteriously the cat's post is gone.

All games in Premier - Premier C are videoed, anyone catch watch them. The incident wasn't great and he deserved to get suspended, was 7 weeks to harsh, probably.
Boland got 3 weeks as well, was he hard done by..... not likely.

Ismail from North Brunswick is different - he was reported on the day and took the 3 weeks without going to the tribunal.

Grant had to go to tribunal as it was an investigation. He is gone for the year, so stop worring about it and get on with footy!!!

Mate, are you really trying to get us to believe that he got 7 weeks for an incident that showed his head made accidental contact to a PEGS players shoulder?
I haven't seen the incident but I cannot/will not believe that the tribunal is so inept as to give someone 7 weeks for an incident captured on video that shows he is innocent of the charge.
Lastly, surely a Premier C team, who is on top of the ladder, knows that all games are videoed and are available to all clubs??
I do like the banter though.....

The penultimate round:

Hampton Rovers vs Monash Blues
Parkdale vs Banyule
Marcellin vs Old Camberwell
PEGS vs Mazenod
Rupertswood vs Fitzroy

Pretty clever by pegs investigating incidents involving two of parkdales better players, when they need parkdale to win their remainding games for them to make the finals.
Bunch of pathetic squibs. That girl who claimed he is "scared to play now after getting head butted", is a disgrace to football. Having said that, it is no wonder the players are such f*ckwits, with a coaching staff like theirs. Banging on the coaches box and whining all day long, they are the worst club I have ever come across.
Wouldnt it be a shame if parkdale were to rest all of their good players for the final round, meaning poor old PEGS would miss out on the finals

They've got form. We've got a good young lad who hasn't played for a couple of years after getting 6 or 8 weeks thanks to their request for an investigation into an incident after one of their own got back better than he gave.

'Scared to play after being head butted' Give me a break. He suffered no injuries at all and played on (by all reports) Must make his Mother and Father proud to have a son like that. Obviously there is no such thing as a players code anymore. Isn't the PEGS coach related to one of the Parkdale boys too. Would like to be there the next time these two teams meet.

How ironic! After today's results, Parkdale Vultures cannot be dislodged from top spot irrespective of what happens next week. However Pegs now do need Parkdale to beat Mazenod in the final round for them to secure 4th spot. Hmmmm, I wonder how that will go.

Pity for Old Essendon, it isn't Table Tennis

aaahahahahahah.... How sweet it is... PEGS season rests in the hands of the club they shafted. How they couldn't see this scenario unfold from WAY back is beyond me... I sure as hell know Parkdale did.

enjoy your Mad Monday ladies

What a ridiculous notion?! How juvenile do you people think the Parkdale coaching staff are? They're not going to deliberately drop a game to ensure PEGS don't make finals.

Juvenile... nothing to do with it. It would simply be in their best interest to keep their players fresh for 1st week of finals.... that, and PEGs are a bunch of knobs and to see their season finished would e a delight.

That's all well & good, but I'd be more concerned about Mazenod than PEGS. Statistically, Mazenod are the best defensive team in the comp. Of the top 6 sides, PEGS have leaked more goals than any other. Given Parkdale's strength is up front, I'd be more inclined to want PEGS competing in finals.
Players needing a rest is a load of sh!t. We're park footballers and if Parky win their first final those players will get the spell they need.
Why upset good momentum heading into another finals campaign? It's already a tough assignment against a side that hasn't lost at home since Rd.1.

And, I would rather see PEGS in the finals than Mazenod.....very dangerous side the Nodders are.
I think we are all in agreeance that PEGS are a pedestrian group of blokes who are in serious need of a culture change, but I can't work out why they are being protrayed as the bad guys in this incident when someone has got 7 weeks for headbutting!!

when you have a PEGs player in front of the tribunal saying "incidents like these make me afraid to play football again" (reference to the headbutt), I think it's safe to say they are trying to get a conviction and have the key thrown away.

As Mean Gene mentioned, no player code any more.

Players code is a thing of the past, unfortunately. One of our kids got suspended for "unsatisfactory evidence" when he told the tribunal that no contact was made in a striking charge against a Mazenod player earlier this season.

UM
At least your boy can still hold his head up high!

Sorry to interrupt this handbag throwing contest with footy related matters however this Saturday's derby between Banyule and Marcellin should be a great promotion for the Ammos.
"Slammin Sam" Kekovich hosting the pre match luncheon, ex school mate/juniors pitched against each other but more importantly the final fixture of the season sees the exit of one R.J. Brockwell from the amateur coaching ranks.
One of the last of the hot gospellers, "Brocky" has had a stellar amateur career as player and coach and will leave a lasting legacy at the oval that bears his name (pun intended).

Speaking of stellar amateur careers, Russell Barnes partakes in his 100th & final game for the Hampton Rovers on Saturday at Brunswick St Oval. Not enough could be said about the fantastic job he's done with the hand he's been dealt the past 2 years. He deserves a lot better and hopefully the upset of the season will be a just reward for his send off game.

Well done Barney , Its a shame that so many left over the past few years, but with the amount of young kids you got games into the future looks bright !! Any idea who will coach next year ?
