Geez, there’s tumble weeds blowing through here when Collegians loses, I thought most would be celebrating the thumping of Blues?

Was funny listen to Mr Kanis on the ammo show tonight on the radio, talk about making excuses, Blues did play with 41 points and no less than six ex-AFL players compared to Scotch’s zero?

By the way, people should get on the VAFATV and have a look Mr Mirra’s mark in the last q when he destroyed two OB defenders, unbelievable mark. Whilst they’re at it, they should also check out Mr M Wallis’ goal of the year in the third q vs OM’s.
Thanks Mr Platinum, it has been a busy few days. Collegians in all honesty were not the best side on Saturday, we just weren't able to get on top of Old Brighton at all. Full credit to them, they're a super side and are very well coached.

Our best players were exemplary, Mirra and Ong in particular kept us in the game, but both missed simple shots from directly in front, but that's footy.

Now onto the bloods in Old Haileybury who look a strong side. The last time both sides met was way back in August 2011. Most of our side would've still been in primary school back then!

VAFA Boss at Colls lunch last sat. He explained the new "interview rule" and why it was implemented (basically to prevent U Blues and teams like them from cheating). No problem with that. What didn't wash was when he tried to explain why a Coll and OH player couldnt be interviewed prior to last sats game because no one was available to carry out the interviews...REALLY???? So you introduce a rule that you cant implement when required....Not much changes at Headquarters

Interesting that they mention stuff like that, it seems to be a good structure in theory, but in practice it can be rather time consuming on blokes who just to play footy and volunteers who help administer clubs.

In this week's tips I will list them as follows:

Old Brighton over Caulfield
Old Melburnians over Old Scotch
Old Xaverians over Uni Blues
Collegians over Old Haileybury
SKOB over Uni Blacks

Their opponents each week have been winless. Soft draw
To be fair, everyone’s opponents round one were winless. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the draw, especially when you are talking about a team that has won three of the last four flags.

It could be argued that their whole draw last year was soft, as they won 17 of 20 games 😜

Big day for Purple Army today. Maybe they have the required depth as Reserves had a big win. This year you need a squad of 40 players

Leeson for 2023, don't keep tipping OMs as they seem to be well of the boil so far after four rounds.

There is a real shift in the ladder positions so far and it is quite interesting to see the percentage of the top five sides compared to the bottom five. Makes for difficult reading if you're a Blacks, Caulfield, OH and OMs fan at the moment, but there's plenty of footy still to play.

Saturday was a bit of a danger game for the lions, but we seemed to adapt really well to wet conditions and just dominated Old Haileybury. I'm looking forward to this week's game at the Trott against OMs, should hopefully be better than the game we played against them last year at the Trott where they kicked 15 in a row against us!

Early Predictions : Final 4. Not in order : Skobs ,OB, OS and Coll
To drop : OC and U Blacks.
There you go....

UH have had a super tough start (three of four finalists according to FF) ...SKOB on the other hand are going to get to see how the 2023 vintage are shaping up (have to confident given pedigree). Looks to be a season of some scrambling to avoid the drop and others fighting for the finals. Maybe only 1 or 2 in between (Uni Blues perhaps).

Have heard Old Brighton are going into recess for 6 weeks mid year due to the Europe bug, might be lucky to hold their position in the top 4.

I heard you have quite a few as well . Serious question , how many miss out on a game every week

A few miss out every week, the same as most clubs. Ten teams is enough, we are stretched as it is, anymore and the dam would bust, we used to have 11 and that was ridiculous.

Is it over the top , administration wise it must be a nightmare
