It's not trying to be "edgy". Nicknames are nicknames, unless they've relocated (like Springvale to Casey) I call them by their original names. Why is it a big deal?

I’m not going to the game now, forget it...too confusing. Shouldn’t it be Prahran Two Blues?? Shit!

Anyways, back to the game..

As mentioned. This seriously could get ugly, especially with our guys returning (Myers, McGrath, Mutch)

Always keen to keep an eye out for an opponent and Tom Wilson has started the year well and will be having a keen eye on him.

FINAL TEAM:
B – Francis, Hartley, Sheahan
HB – McNiece, Zerk-Thatcher, Redman
C – Parish, Clarke, Long
HF – Green, Boyse, J. Merrett
F – Draper, Brown, Houlahan
R – Leuenberger, A. Heppell, Mynott
I/C – Younan, Lavender, Darby, McQueen, Dixon, Strachan, Crosbie, Collins
23P – Harrison

Mutch not named again, something is going on there. Hurley and Myers also not named, Hurley is understandable but by the injury report Myers was ready to go last week and is a no show in either team this week. Will be missing enough time now that a recall straight to the seniors next week looks unlikely.

What does 23p mean, considering that person is the 27th player named? Sorry not from VIC and not sure how this player is used.

23rd player is basically an extra bench player who is currently listed in the TAC Cup or was part of that competition in the previous year. It's used to expose players ahead of their draft to a higher level against bigger bodies, it gives them a taste of what is ahead while also giving recruiters an idea of how they may progress. F/S prospects have at times been the 23rd man for the same reason.

Thanks for that. So does that mean effectively you end up with a 5 man bench that you can use for the entire match?

They have a mid sized size as well. JGM, Macreadie, TDK, Phillips and Lobbe are genuine talls, and they have Williamson, Schumacher, Silvagni and Shaw as your 3rd tall types. Our midfield should be too strong though. Expecting 5 bench players to play with probably McNiece as the travelling emergency or Parish (without knowing who was held over last week). Thinking Younan, Lav, McQueen, Dixon and Collins if it went the way I wanted.

Hoping Brown can get a hold over Glass-McCasker.

We are currently 3 goals up and looking the better side. I have to leave early so this is about as much as I can share. Also, I don’t get to the VFL often these days so will do my best.

Zerk Thatcher reminds me of Cale Hooker. Took a ripper contested mark in front of me due to readiny the drop of the ball and launching from behind.

Redman is angry like Goddard and looks a good player (continuing on from BrunoV commens last week). He got tackled in front of me and whacked the tackler by throwing his shoulder back and then sky hiked the ball as hard as he could over his shoulder into the tackler’s face making the most awesome skin thud sound.

Greeny is finding more space at this level and is kicking to good spots.

Parish will be back in the 1sts next week I think. Busy and neat are probably the two best adjectives to describe him.

Francis took some great marks. The consensus areound me is that he will be back in the ones shortly.

Jackson Merrett has done some really good things.

Nice smother and pressure by McNeice followed by a goal
Franga clunks a great mark in defence.
I think about grabbing a tinnie...

Jesse Palmer guaranteed a spot on Carlton's list next year. We know they love washed up Port Adelaide hacks who perform okay in their VFL team.
