Preview Preview and Changes Vs Adelaide

There is no ******g way on earth that you would drop Neade. His game last night was exceptional as was O'Shea's.

No injuries, no changes whatsoever.

If you really have to make a change then young Wines ought to be dropped 'cause I get the distinct feeling that he's getting a bit of a big head with all the attention and adulation being foisted upon him. He did one or two things last night that showed me that he was trying to be a bit too clever.

This is a fascinating time as a Port supporter. Looked at the tingles board as I do with all our opposition teams. They seem to be putting more stock into the Showdowns because they are playing us. This board is treating this like any other game. I think our team is more disciplined and don't care about whether we beat them but getting the 4 points and improving each week.

A perusal of the tingles board is interesting though. Their team seems less settled as Jacobs and a few of their mids are out of form. Some of them comment that next week is our first test against decent opposition and one suggested we are mutton dressed up as lamb. I look forward to next week. Less pressure on us and really looking forward for us to play our best game of the year. Really think we can still lift a few gears.

Saw signs from Wingard, the Hoff and Lobbe. Still think Boak, Broadbent and Bradbert can lift to another level. Our best is yet to come and it could be this Sunday.

Really wish they stop calling this game showdowns. The Crows are just another opposition, the only difference is they cheated for the last 3 years.

Really? Showdown XXXIV is good marketing tool? It's lazy and deplorable IMO. I really don't think people care that this is the 34th time Port have played the Crows.

I think it's complaining for the sake of complaining

Ok. So because I don't agree with your 2 previous points, I'm complaining for the sake of complaining. Nice.

Good post. The difference between our clubs and supporter expectations is fairly obvious. We've come off a prelim and hope/expect to do better this year, you guys were terrible last year and have had an excellent off season in many departments and have had 2 good wins, and want to keep building on it. I'm not sure where you are realistically at as I think most wouldn't be either. And as we started poorly against Essendon, we aren't settled as you said. Yep Sauce has been ordinary so far but I don't see him being poor 3games in a row, the ruck will be important this week. Our mids started to warm up last night and should be strong this week. Your side has big potential but a lot of young players still. Who knows how it will go this week, as usual with showdowns.

Match ups on Dangerfield, Jacobs and Walker concern me. Who will run with Dangerfield?

I don't think it's a sole question of who will tag dangerfield, I think you have to copy what Essendon did in that whenever dangerfield gets near the ball multiple people have to belt into him in doing so gets him off the ball or restricts his space.

looking forward to you boys and girls seeing the banter ads in the paper, ive already heard a couple that have made it, and a couple that were to harsh for the paper

sub would depend on the situation and match ups. I'd be happy to leave Mitchell to run at the tired crows in the second half.
we have to reward him though, even if he plays a full game he'll run at the tired crows. the only problem is trying to find someone to make a sub?

Good Point. Give him no room.
Isn't Ollie after some work experience?;)
