This has always been the problem with Nicks as a coach. He coaches to react to other teams game plans rather than make teams beat his. My guess is he panicked without Rankine, over thought it and went back to his Fremantle losing best bullshit structures. What a clown.

Not too bad, not that far off, did a lot right, just a little bit off, just didn't quite cope with the moment, our guys were a bit nervy, hopefully another final or two or three will get them to settle a bit more. Started pretty bad but didn't finish too bad. Could really do with another quick midfielder or two, rankine and Rachele will be handy.
nah it wasnt. We had a lot of times we just bombed it long under no pressure. Collingwood werent laughing because they won, they were outright laughing at us after the game. Dont create excuses that arent there. We lost this game more than Collingwood won it.
Too often we've coughed up a run of goals with little opposition. Completely monstered early in the 3rd. Our midfield / clearance work badly exposed once again. Having to throw Laird in there was damning. Couldn't see if they tried Curtin in there, but surely that was worth a shot.

Nicks has no answer to any coach who has a sound Plan A, B. Nicks has a Plan A that requires heavy reliance on certain players. Anything else is adhoc reactions. There is no excuse.

If we make it now, it’ll be because we deserve it. A very hard ****ing task but it’s still a possibility.
We were alwaysgoing to need everything going our way to win straight through in our first final series..that was never going to happen with Rachelle and Rankine situation. How would Collingwood have gone with out Daicos and Elliot?
Still plenty of opportunities to learn next week and hopefully beyond.
