What role though?

Would have to take one of Rachele/ANB/Keays spot. He is in that depth chart.

Maybe take Curtin or Tex out and have Pedlar play as a pure forward.

Which is essentially what he did in the SANFL Showdown. And was brilliant.

He looks in form and is a first round pick so should get a chance. Just not sure how.

Draper needs to play this week as well. Experience at the G for our guys us invaluable.
I’m picking him as a small forward, allowing a bit more midfield time for Rachelle.

Does Jamie Elliott have a habit of cutting us up, or am i disproportionately scarred from just a handful of times being cut up?
I think its scarring. He is more of a beneficiary of some absolute midfield whitewashing.

Last game it was Pendlebury, Daicos and DeGoey.
Before that it was Daicos
and before that it was Daicos and DeGoey
and and before that it was Daicos and Pendlebury

I sense a pattern...

They both started the season very well but for the last 4-5 weeks both their kicking have been horrible, even missing easy kicks when they are not under pressure.
That’s not true. Dawsons kicking has been off all year. Go watch the first 5 minutes of the bombers game. Dawson misses 2 or 3 completely loose targets when he is under no kicking pressure at all.

I’m worried Charlie Edwards is next in line for the Worrell and Nank SANFL treatment.

He is playing excellent footy at sanfl level and warrants a call up.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say the only way he gets games is via someone else's injury or tactical resting of players at the end of the year. Our selectors infatuation for continuity is going to double down with finals on the horizon.

And like most if not all of our younger guys, when he comes in he wont do much wrong.

My Saturday is looking like heaven.

1. Breakfast in CBD
2. Walk over to the MCG to watch us smash the Pies
3. Travel to Southbank sports bar to watch Cats maul the Pear
4. Move to Munich Brauhause next door
5. Maybe back to the sports bar to watch next game
6. Casino

I've just booked tickets to the Sydney game. Could hardly believe it when I saw that the Giants (my second team being Canberra based) were playing at Homebush at 4:15 (v Richmond) and then the Crows at the SCG at 7:35! Might never get to watch Giants and Crows play back-to-back games in Sydney ever again.

Friday night - Drive to Wollongong to stay at friend's place.
Saturday:
Morning swim
Quick lunch
Train to Homebush
Watch game (Dinner at half time)
Train to SCG
Watch game
Train back to 'Gong
Sunday:
Morning swim
Drive home.

Might leave Homebush a bit early if the result is a foregone conclusion.

Think its been a thing for the Crows long before Burgo.
Burgo was very open about players playing through niggles. Remember when Talia went down like someone shot him..... torn hamstring, off the bone, blah blah... played the following week. I think he knew we had a few "softies" in the side and wanted to iron that out of us. But this just means we've swung too far the other way and now when it's clear the player could do with a rest, we are loathe to do it.

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks says the Crows will take the conditions predicted for the MCG on Saturday into consideration for the side they choose to take on Collingwood.

"Yeah, we look at conditions and the venue, and a lot of fair questions where we might look to change some things," he said.

Barely coherent sentence aside, I would have liked a follow up question:

Matthew, can you please provide an example of a previous occasion when you have altered our team line up based on the conditions, venue or opponent?

This is like the tagging Daicos thing

We all know Nicks will not change the side based on the conditions

Fitness guy will never be able to fix mental softness - which we were accused of many times

We had players play through so much yet others get a hang nail - Shane MaCadam I'm looking at you - and need 2 weeks off

Nicks on Charlie Edwards' form in the SANFL & getting a game."He was fantastic on the weekend— a step above where he had been.

"There are a lot of guys that, at the moment, they're walking into my office and bashing that door down and saying, 'Hey, what does it take?'

"My response to those guys is just, keep being there and being ready.

"If our team performs, we get a result we're after, and guys are playing their roles, it's pretty hard to change that. You've got a group of guys that are getting it done, and they're building cohesion throughout that.

"However, there is a certain level of performance that just says, 'Okay, you have to bring me in.'""He's getting close to that now, as are a number of others."

Injury he means injury - nothing less than an injury

🤞

Charlie Edwards (26 disposals and five rebound 50s) played his best game in defence and showed his ability to beat his opponent and start dangerous attacking chains by foot to stake his claim for an AFL debut.

Resting a few players as Collingwood did against Fremantle also means you can throw a bone to the Charlie Edwardses, who are bashing the door down in the reserves as Nicks describes it.

I doubt we'd feel comfortable enough to do that though, in terms of making the eight.

It's incredible that he apparently "wasn't ready" barely 2 weeks ago when he was overlooked for Smith but suddenly in the space of 2 games he's banging down the door and we just can't find a spot for him🤣🙄.
